Super nice staff, speaking perfect English (a rarity in the context - she recently lived in France for four years...), helping you with everything down to your issues with plane rickets etc. Right on the beach - breakfast and brunch in the sand. Scooters on the spot for around 7 usd per day, all brand new. Near the "capital", about 3-4 mins scooter drive. Next door to all beach restaurants and walking distance to tons of others on the main street.
all reviews » we loved this place - a nice, small set of bungalows located directly on the beach. the staff is very friendly, its a vienamese/french family who runs the place. they speak english and french. everything is clean and we stayed longer than we planned to - because we lost ourselfs in time :) the star of the resort was a baby-dog, called nemo - he is so cute!. The beach-front room was truly right on the beach. I opened the large doors to a table, chairs and lounge chair on my private porch just feet from a nice sandy beach. The family that runs it are really nice and helpful. The staff, Nemo the dog, how attentive they were, the location and the fact that although the room was basic , the price was the best in the area.... And we checked. You will get nothing better for a cheaper price. Friendly Staff, Kim the owner is very wellcoming and speaks good English and French. Nice breakfast served on the beach every morning, free sunbeds, nice cuisine & coctails. Lovely people, lovely atmosphere, 20 meters from the beach. The room was quite small for 3 people, and there is no glass window (I.E. you have to close the shade to make the air con effective). The room was a little simple but only a minor grumble... Too many mosquitos at night. There were roaches in the room so make sure you ask for bug spray of the room prior to your sleep. Noisy fruits sellers. They have a "transit base" few steps from bungalow door. Positive moment - you will always have fresh fruits nearby. Learned from other guests that the same room without a reservation via the Internet, are much cheaper. It's a very spoiled mood. Phu Quoc is very quiet. For that price one expects a bit more comfort. Maybe it's common in Phu Quoc's budget hotels but they switch off the ACs and that freaked us out as we were always desperate for relief from sweltering heat outside but there was none whenever we returned to the hotel after our tours outside.
