Everything. The service was excellent, far better than many more expensive hotels, nothing was too much effort for the staff who were always bright and friendly and came up with quick and more than satisfactory solutions to anything they were asked. The beds were the most comfortable I've stayed in. The room was a very decent size and the hotel was clean. The gym was also well stocked with new machines. The location is brilliant, you can walk everywhere and there is a pret and Starbucks right n.
all reviews » The hotel was super clean - newly renovated. The staff was superb! Everyone from the doorman, bell boy to reception, housekeeping and room service. We traveled out to nyc for the 1st time with the entire family - 2 little ones (2 and 3) on halloween weeknd. The staff was super friendly and so accommodating. Never saw room service at a hotel work so fast to get dinner up for the kids and the food tasted great too. From time of placing order - the food was up for the kids in 15 min. My typical ex. The hotel was fantastic. Everyone was so nice, friendly and answered all of our questions when we had them!! The concierge was particularly wonderful when we needed to find a notary on VERY short notice. I'm thankful that this hotel existed because it made a very stressful apartment hunting weekend much easier for us!!. This is our second visit there within 6 months. We both like the location, close to Grand Central and walking distance to Broadway Shows, the nice and comfy heavenly beds and coffee/tea in the rooms and love the workout facility and restaurant downstairs. Room size is also larger than the norm for a NYC hotel room. I liked the cleanliness of the room. I liked that the front desk person was so nice that she gave me a room on the top floor so I had beautiful view from my room. I liked the comfortable bed I had. I liked the strong light in my bathroom. I liked the location. I like the friendliness of all the personnel. The beds in the roo were very comfortable the room spotless clean and all our questions answered promptly. The location superb.Few blocks of Grand Central I highly recommend this hotel. Good value for the money. The location is perfect. It is close enough to Times Square and theaters that it is easy walk but far enough away that we could sleep without putting in ear plugs. The front desk staff was very professional and friendly at both check-in and check-out. Small but Comfortable room...friendly registration staff .....lounge served great ceviche so enjoyed a drink while waiting for our room but ended up going out to dinner since it was too noisy in dining area....had a delicious breakfast as well.... The location was fantastic! The staff (everyone from the front desk to the doormen) was very courteous. The room was nice and spacious - a good size for a NY hotel!. Location Bed etc. very clean. For some reason, I happened to call the hotel the day before my arrival and found that they do not have my reservation. After calling letsbookhotel.com they got it squared away. However, I was on hold for more than 1.5 hour. Once I got there, I asked for two double bed instead of the one King bed and they were nice enough to change that for me. That made a difference for me. Sooo, after all these issues, I believed my overall experience is positive one for both letsbookhotel.com and Westin... The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The gym is state of the art. The room we stayed in is starting to show some slight aging in the bathtub/shower . Needs some updating Caulking/tile... There is only one thing I did not like: The battery went off at my door and it needed to be changed and it took an hour until I could enter my room again and I could not answer my emails during I was waiting and I lost an important business meeting because of that problem because my partner could not get a hold of me. Everything else was excellent in the hotel. Nothing to report, we liked everything. Had to wait for room until 8 pm so was not able to check in 'til after going out to dinner....Bath area extremely small.... Frontline staff never greeted us when coming or going. Concierge seemed more interested in carrying on a conversation with other staff than addressing our questions. Bellhop at front was extremely rude when we left. He got into a confrontation with our cab driver. Bell boy was not very happy to be working in that place. Everyone else was great to deal with. We arrived at 9:00 pm and the room was not ready to use. The front desk manager implied that there was a union issue with the hou8sekeeping staff. Very, very noisy. Next room occupants conversation and general behaviour was clearly audible throughout. Might be a combination on inadequate insulation and inconsiderate guests. I did not enjoy a full nights sleep during my stay. Check in/out staff friendly, helpful and approachable, I didn't feel the same about door staff. Bathroom rather small. Lack of towel rail for drying larger towels. No milk for tea making. No space to store fresh milk for making tea. Housekeeping failed to provide paper cups, coffee mate on one occasion. Noisy location even on the 31st floor. A mirror light in the bathroom would have been helpful. Wireless Internet unlike all other hotels we stayed at in New York, Philadelphia and Washington on this trip was not free!!. Honestly, We were not in the hotel long enough to have any complaints. Encountered a very rude concierge who on the last day spoiled the rest of our experience. Anonymous,fair restaurant. Valet service rates seemed a bit extravagant... We also got charged twice for one of the two cars we valeted. High price , no free internet, cold lobby. Got locked out of room for half an hour by a failed battery on door. Nothing really. No fridge or microwave No ventilation in bathroom. The hotel restaurant "The LCL" is awful. When the hotel did not have my reservation on record on the day before my arrival (I happened to call) otherwise, I would have to wait 1.5 hour (as I did at home) to get new confirmation #. I don't know whose fault is it..either booking .com or Westin. They did not have our reservaton when we arrived. Housekeeping was inefficient. Things were not replaced in the room. Tea, coffee, towels, soap. 1-no record of reservation thru letsbookhotel.com, so check in process longer. 2-hand towel on rack was blotted with lipstick. 3-refuse in wastebasket. 4-no handsoap, only bodywash. Arrived with no staff on reception and large queue. Staff then tried to change the booking from two double beds to a single king. Took 10 mins, at 10 o,clock after transatlantic flight, to convince them that this was not we had booked or was reasonable for a family of four. The person beside us was also having the same argument. General feeling of lack of organisation and customer service. Smell in the bathroom either from the shower curtain or mop used by maid to clean but distinct odour. A/C didnt work. SERVICE! Good grief. I was warned that service in New York will be different but this has to be the worst SPG hotel I've stayed in and I'm a frequent traveller. We stayed 5 nights and not once were we greeted by staff at the door or hallway - everyone was busy talking to each other or staring into space. The booking confirmation clearly stated it was a two double bed room. Upon checkin, they gave us a room with one kind size bed for 4 people. The staff did not even try to help or compensate by providing additional beds.
