Fantastic, safe location just a few short minutes by foot to Times Square and in the centre of Restaurant Row - in-house restaurant was great too and we had a few meals there - including room service. Breakfasts were taken in the mezzanine conservatory and were delicious, with a wide choice of food and drink - the bagels and muffins were great. The two-bedroom suite we had was just ideal for us and our three sons - it was so nice to have a lounge where we could all meet up at the end of the d.
all reviews » The staff were fantastic to deal with, extremely friendly and helpful. Did not request an early check in but arrived following overnight flight and were accommodated immediately. The decor and facilities were excellent and despite having a room overlooking 46th St noise was not an issue and it was a nice view to look out upon opening the curtains in Oct sun in NY. Breakfast was perfect - simple, no fuss and extended hours. The coffee machine with pods in room was a huge addition - always nice t. We recently came to New York to elope and The French Quarters couldn't have been more lovely! As soon as we arrived we were upgraded to a king suite, which was amazing! The staff were always happy to go the extra mile to help us out - including running my wedding dress up to the dry cleaners before they closed just to make sure it would be back in time. On our wedding night there was also a lovely bottle of champagne and a lovely card. So not only were the hotel staff amazing but the location . From initial arrival we were made very welcome by Tory, the manager Colin went out of his way to ensure we were getting great attention and service. The rooms were good size, really comfortable and in an excellent location. John was also extremely helpful on check out too. The attention to detail was wonderful and the bar next door was a fantastic way to unwind over a cocktail, bite to eat or a glass of wine. Perfect location, close to times square but not too rowdy. Would really recommend thi. The bed was incredibly comfortable...close to Times Square and the theaters...staff was friendly and helpful. Bar was all decked out for Mardi Gras and great fun; good size refrigerator with complementary waters and Keurig. Real coffee cups and glasses. Room was very attractive although small it had everything needed. Very clean; great shower. Although the bar was lively and very busy and our room was in the front we had no problem with noise. Nice neighborhood area with a variety of resta. We loved our clean room, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a decent size fridge to keep our wine cool. The other great thing about this hotel is the fact that you can walk to countless numbers of restaurants and Times Square. Our business was at the Javitts Center and that is a good hike but we did it for our two days at the show. We enjoyed our breakfasts down in the bar using the terrace under the clear plastic panels, a very nice way to start our day. The great staff on the front desk w. The location is 5 min walk to Times Square and the metro. It is within a street full of different types of restaurants. The owner/manager and staff were very helpful with tips about the area. Got the small room at the front of the hotel and it had everything in the room anyone would need for a trip to New York. The breakfast was very good and the hotel joined onto a pub which served very good food which we tried later in our trip. The hotel is good value considering the location and other price. The location and proximity to restaurants, Broadway shows, the subway and shopping was excellent! Service was outstanding - the staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate. I have a gluten intollerance and they made sure that they had enough gluten free breakfast options. The rooms were above a pub but we heard very little noise and slept very well. The rooms were surprisingly spacious for mid- town Manhattan. They were great with holding our bags our last day so that we could site see after checking out. The continental breakfast was fabulous and we loved it overlooking the Bourbon Street Bar and Grill. It was also very close to Time Square so we could see all of the sites there. But we also loved that it's off of a very quaint street with fabulous restaurants. Staff is great. Great location along restaurant row in Hell's Kitchen/Clinton. Would definitely stay again. Other travelers commented on the noise, but if you are accustomed to the sounds of New York, it is not an issue at all. The location one block from Times square in a tree line street full of great eating places. Close to metro stations and hop on hop off bus start points. We were warned that our room above the bar would be noisy but with double glazed windows wasn't a problem. We came equipped with ear plus just in case but didn't have to use them. Small friendly, Colin and his team make you very welcome, the apartments are located in midtown which makes it easy to travel to all tourist spots. Continental breakfast is included and there are an abundance of resturants close by. Would recommend to friends and no hesitation about returning when next visiting NY. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the theatres and only a couple blocks from Times Square. The staff are great, and it has that boutique hotel feel, where details and design are considered, and as it's only small, nothing falls though the gaps. I really recommend the hotel for ny visitors. The room was beautiful and it didn t look old, like most of the hotels in New York. The location excellent, just 2 blocks from Times Square, where broadway cross 7th avenue. The satff was very helpful with everything we required and the manager welcome us with 2 bottles of wine. The breakfast is very good. The rooms were just the right size for an overnight stay. Our room overlooked the atrium open bar. It was across the street from the restaurant we went to. It is in a prime location of Broadway. Would highly recommend to stay there. Very safe and secure and the restaurant and bar very welcoming . The staff was very accomodating. The bathroom was luxurious and hot water was plentiful. Our room was always quiet which we appreciated, Coffee/tea/chocolate supplies in room were always generous and replenished daily. The French Quarters is a high quality hostelry in a prime location on 'restaurant row' on W46th Street, a short walk from the hustle & bustle of Times Square. Yet when you close the windows you are instantly insulated from the hubbub of NYC. The place was CLEAN! and very pleasant. I liked all of the little amenities they provided including the umbrellas, newspaper and unlimitied coffee. The resturant was very appealing. The location is also good. We went to a play one block away. The rooms were immaculate. It appeared that the bathrooms were just renovated and they were very tastefully done. The staff was very helpful in their recommendations on what to do nearby. Breakfast was nice. Overall, a great experience. Excellent hotel! Rooms are beautiful, beds very comfortable, great location, extremely good value for the price. What's not to like? It was all just as described - and surpassed our already high expectations. We had a large amount of clothes and luggage with us as we were travelling for 19 days. The room did not facilitate unpacking as the hob took up space that could have been utilised better with more wardrobe space - hob had no accouterments to cook with in room. The bed whilst really comfy and neat was situated with one side against the wall - tough to climb out of such a fab comfy bed. Only one coffee maker in a room for 5, which takes 3 minutes to brew, could do with better facility for this. The air-conditioning appeared unstable either too hot or freezing. It was corrected when asked but had to ask. Loved it all!. Some people may not like the noise from the pub and street in front of the hotel but they stated it prior to booking and you have to accept New York never sleeps. Apart from this it was a very enjoyable stay and wished we had stayed longer at the hotel. The street noise level was crazy loud in the morning. I would stay here again but will ask for a room away from the street. What's not to like?. The room we stayed in had a bed that had one side against a wall - this made it hard for one of a couple to get out without disturbing the other. Younger couples will probably not see it as an issue, though. The dining wasn't great in terms of the cutlery was at times with remnants from previous use and tables at breakfast were not always clean. I wouldn't suggest room service as the food takes some time to arrive from the busy restaurant and is not always edible. To the hotels credit, they did not charge us which we truly appreciated. They warned us that we could have some noise produced by the pub under our room, but I have to say that noise was minimum. We could sleep perfectly, the room was well noise isolated. Everything was perfect. Breakfast wasn't great. Breakfast time too short, 7:30 to 9:00 on weekdays and 8:30 to 10:00 on weekends. The sofa bed needs to be replaced already coz the matress is too thin. It s ok for my daughters, and for small kids, but not for another couple of grown ups. the pillows were the only issue. My husband could not get comfortable however he managed to sleep through the nigh. Nothing negative!!. Was very disappointed in the breakfast, It wouldn't take much more to have a hot tray with fresh scrambled eggs, selection of cold meats, cheeses. The breakfast area was very drab, needs a fresh lift. Also would of liked to see more management at breakfast time, waiters were just sitting off eating and enjoying a cuppa!!. The windows in front facing rooms are not the best at keeping out the New York noise. t.v. remote control was extremely filthy, I personally cleaned the one in my room before handling. Recommend housekeeping disinfect/clean remote aftr each checkout. Rather small standard rooms but it adds to the "old Manhattan" flavour!. I had to pay 1/2 down in advance - an amount which was applied to my credit card at the time of online reservation. That is a lot of money for them to use until I got there. At very least there should be a 17% discount applied to the bill balance if so much is paid in advance - or to those guests, a full English breakfast, not "Continental" should be offered. Our room was very small and did not have bedside tables. The lift was slow. We had to call an emergency doctor one night and were the unfortunate victims of a scam. This was not the fault of the hotel but travellers to New York should be VERY VERY careful in confirming the final cost before signing anything. I would not say I didn't like this, but guests should be prepared for how "vibrant" the street is into the night. Lots of restaurants nearby that have a steady evening business. Cannot think of anything! Was excellent!. not having a choice of hot buffet breakfast in addition to the continental. All good , just watch when you pay and what you pay,nothing bad just mix up. Sleeping over the bar area was much noisier than we expected and the loud music lasted till almost 4. What a shame because this place was beautiful. The restaurant food was good and priced fair but the drinks were advertised at $5. and when we went upstairs that nite they charged us $9. each. - a bit noisy (but I knew this) - could not open the windows - breakfast is OK, not as good as you could expect. Breakfast room was a bit under heated, but had a very good selection of items for a continental breakfast. Nothing. Absolutely nothing!!!.
