The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and the size of the room was good by NY standards. The location was fabulous for shopping. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The price was very good for an upscale NYC hotel. Would definitely stay at the Omni again. Lenny was the best!!! He went out of his way to help us and Lenny wasexcellent with our children. We will stay their again for sure!.

A construction site outside our window!. Hotel was full and they ran out of newspapers one morning. As in all hotels, housekeeping could use much improvement. Room service is punctual and curteous, but food quality is fair and menu prices are doubled by the time food reaches the room (taxes, delivery, gratuity etc.). Expensive mini-bar. I specifically requested a room with two double bed and clearly spelledout "not a king size bed" - you can guess what I got. And I was therepromptly at 3pm to be sure that wouldn't happen. The woman at the desktold me to "make the best of it".... Nice way of saying "tough luck.". poor breakfast. a it small room. The bell staff were cocky and unhelpful. There was an employee in a suit standing right by the front door of the lobby when I was leaving with my large suitcase and he watched as I struggled with the door. I asked him if he would keep the door open for me, and he refused, saying that a bellman would be around any minute now. Is this a union thing?. Rooms are on the small size. my room faced construction site, noise and unpleasant view. Room was very small and we were not notified about construction work which was taking place right outside the hotel, beside our window! Not impressed at all. No discount was offered. I would have given the hotel excellent right thorugh but for over $500 a night we were given a tiny double room, facing the rear of the building. That meant it was quiet during the night but they are building a new block 100 feet from the window so no view no light and from 7 am noise. Greg the duty manager sorted it however see above notes. We had a room facing a giant construction side, where workers did make a substantial amount of noice during their jobs. The fact that housekeeping called us at 22.00 in the evening (while we were sleeping) to ask if they had to do the room. We were guaranteed a room with 2 double beds and got a room with a king bed and a roll away. This was not acceptable.concierge staff helpful but not very friendly - very little natural light from the window (faced an internal courtyard) - expensive breakfast. Bar area staff were unremittingly miserable. Room service food was inedible.Hotel needs to be renovated.

FROM JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – 17 MILES
Take the Van Wyck Expressway to the Long Island Expressway to the Midtown Tunnel. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue and continue straight to 53rd Street. Turn left onto 53rd Street to 5th Avenue. Turn left onto 5th Avenue to 52nd Street. Drive to 52nd Street, turn left. Madison Avenue is one block, and the hotel is on the left.

FROM NEWARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – 17 MILES
Take the New Jersey Turnpike north to Lincoln Tunnel. When you get through the tunnel, bear left (uptown) and go the traffic light. Make a right onto 42nd Street to 8th Avenue. Make a left onto 8th Avenue. Drive to 52nd Street and turn right. Go straight to Madison Avenue, and the hotel is at 21 East 52nd Street.
