The hotel is very well located in the center of Manhattan what it facilitates to walk, to go shopping and to visit the main tourist points around.It was in a great location, staff was great and friendly and the rooms are nicely decorated, the kitchenette came in handy. I tried several times to learn more about the Club Quarters offer, or some other way of getting cheap weekend rates, but the staff wouldn't discuss it. I was only given a number to call. Eventually I was told that The Rockefeller Hotel and Club Quarters were separate entities. I now understand but this is confusing to say the least.The reception area/desk a bit small, as it got congested at times, however the staff did their best to keep it clear. The Do it Yourself check in/out machine would have been better used if guests were knew it was available. In rush hours the number of elevators was not enough. my first room on 9th floor - AC generator right behing the window was extremely noisy. The elevator key card is a good idea, if only it worked properly. Going up and down several times before eventually reaching the room was very irritating.Everything was excellent until check out. While checking out, using computer, front of house manager passed a very sarcastic comment, this clouded our view of hotel. Because I was having difficulty using the computer, while he was not prepared to help, he passed a comment about putting back on my glasses.NOT ACCEPTABLE. The price was very expensive and did not include breakfast. I would stay at a cheaper hotel next time.it was very annoying having to get different cards every day just to get the lift to stop at floor 7 where the bar and restaurant facilities were. It just seemed a waste of time and effort. Inefficient slow staff in the club room restaurant.1. slow elevator, 2. noisy shower. The elevators - there was only two and they were quiet busy, also the card did not always work so you were relying on other guests to get to the required floor. seperate living area would be better .need door to bedroom. elevator broke during stay. Long waits to go upstairs or downstairs.some TV channels were fuzzy and unwatchable... and these were major stations such as NBC (the one I watch most). No other complaints - very nice hotel. Rooms not huge, but good use of the space available in the room design. Still plenty of space to feel comfortable in even with an infant in tow. Sometimes the lobby can get a bit crammed too. Kettle in the room would have been useful, instead of coffee maker.Not a great front desk. The shower tubing was leaking ( as is so often the case in hotels) otherwise: fine. limited sservices i.e. towels. Elevators down (one was not working) slow for the first 3 days. Rooms were rather small for the price. The lift was very slow to arrive, all times of the day.was fairly expensive and there are about 50.00 extra "fees" every night that wasnt included in the price.
