We loved the view, the size, the stove and refrigerator, and location to Central Park West. I will stay here again! We were accommodated hospitably as a family, as I only made this reservation last week. We were only here for the Macy's Parade. We also appreciated the location of the hotel from the MTA subway. We had a stellar trip! Thank you BEACON!. Fantastic location with a fabulous deli opposite..made our stay in New York a great experience- staf friendly welcoming and rooms immaculate- kitchen faciliaties were great esepcialy for Brits who want a cup of tea in morning and with the fab deli opposite...glorious breakfasts.

I had a non smoking room, but I could smell cigarette smoke in the morning, presumably through the air conditioning system. Ugh! Disgusting. The Hotel could have breakfast.The heater in our room was not working properly. A maintenance man was promptly sent, and a temporary solution found. I trust it will be repaired. I was rather surprised that the price quoted did not include taxes. Coming from Europe it came as a nasty surprise at the end.I was given a non-smoking preference for my room as requested. Paying for wireless internet on top of room costs. the first night the heating was not working properly, i should have asked to move but waited till the next day, maybe the hotel should have offered me another room but they certainly were very gracious about moving me when i requested it, even offering assistance. Difficulty with heating, but problem solved by service people when I called the desk.See above and problem with the heat. No in-house breakfast. - I didn't originally get the suite I had booked (the room had a double bed instead of king) but we were switched the next day. no breakfast provided. It could use some repairs since the building is old, and the room had some peeling and other cosmetic stuff. The room was big, and the kitchen was great, but we would have gladly paid less for a simpler room. Better suited for a bigger party, or longer stay. poor mattress on fold-out bed; did not fix the heating element during our stay.
