The staff was more than helpful. On our last morning, when running to the car to grab something, realized it had been towed!! The front desk helped calm us down, while providing instructions and directions on how to find our car. Kept our room for us until we were able to get it and return. The room was extra spacious and comfortable. The largest room we have stayed in, in the city so far. The location is a very easy walk to Greenwich Village for bars or food. Plenty to do right around the hote.
all reviews » I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Ana in the Chelsea Pines Inn, and all the staff there were charming and lovely throughout my short stay. The location of this Inn is excellent - a few steps away from an underground station, Chelsea Market and the High Line. Small touches like complimentary water and printing facilities makes Chelsea Pines Inn compare favourably to more upscale places I stayed in ny (where they were charging $8 for a small bottle of water!). The service was impeccable and the staff were extremely friendly; especially Lewis! We were on the top floor in a suite and with no lift we had to walk, it didn't really bother us that much to be honest, It felt like a good bit of exercise after the owners delicious home made cakes!! The whole experience was fantastic and I'd reccomend the Chelsea Pines to anyone. Breakfast and delicious snacks throughout the day were the icing on the cake..!. - Amazing breakfast which can be eaten in a beautiful outdoor courtyard - Friendly + helpful staff - Well decorated rooms with nice personal touches eg. fresh flowers, spacious bathrooms - Wifi in all areas - Excellent location- close to all the eateries in the Meatpacking district, unique shoppping in Greenwich Village, Chelsea Markets, highline, subway station with multiple lines only a few metres from the door. It was my first time in nyc and I'm glad I managed to find such a gem. The staff are exceptionally kind and friendly. I was very happy with my room and the breakfast every morning was lovely. The subway is just yards from the hotel. We liked the staff, the location, the friendliness, the professionalism of the staff, the help and advice, in fact we liked everything about this hotel. It is in our view an absolute gem. Its also very well located and its quiet at night. We had a great stay and will use Chelsea Pines again. The staff were uniformly excellent providing a personal touch and did everything they could to help. The proprietors provided very useful information on places to visit and eat in New York. The location is terrific, the rooms are clean and (relatively) large, the breakfast is ample, the aesthetic is bright and fun. But the single biggest selling point here is the staff. Overwhelmingly friendly, courteous, responsive, and genuine. That's how you run a business. The staff was INCREDIBLE (knowledgable, helpful, warm, funny), the decor was lovely with great attention to detail, the location cannot be beat - walking distance to 3 different subway stations and steps from Chelsea Market, the Meat Packing District, and the East Village. No elevator!!. 1.Lack of towel hanging in bathroom (203). 2.Lack of coffee making in other ooms we used (206? & 105). 3. Stairs!. Stairs but it is what it is. Nothing. The only downside is the lack of an elevator -- not a problem for us; but it could be for some. Small rooms with limited storage facilities. Why not add some hooks on the wall?. Snug shower cubicle. Some might have felt a lift would have been good but it didn't bother us at all. No elevators, but we knew that ahead of time. Walking up and down stairs was probably good for us!. Staff was helpful, but we had to wait to check in for at least10 minutes because they were chatting with another guest about what to do in the neighborhood, etc. Climbing the last flight of stairs Leaving. Walking up 5 flights of stairs to get to our room, but the rest of the experience makes up for it. We are definitely going back. Nothing, couldn't fault it, great place!. 5 flights of stairs - had we seen that this is a 'walk up' hotel we would have gone elsewhere - after a day (& evening) walking around the sights we could have done without the 100+ stairs upto our room. Nothing. 4 flights of stairs to the room. Check which level and how old you are as the 5th floor was a workout. Room was compact but everything was there. Unstable wifi in my room. A couple of times in the four days dirty cups and towels were not removed from the room and coffee and milk were not replaced. Guests should be warned that there is no elevator. Stairs are steep and uncarpeted--a little rough for seniors!. Room to small. Four floors with no lift.
