What people say
Because there were three of us, our number 1 requirement was space followed by the ability to make a breakfast or snack. Also its central position and price. Everyone that we dealt with at the front desk was fabulous! The room was huge and extremely clean! We really loved everything!. it is located on the heart of manhattan. great value of money. clean, spacious rooms, especially for parties of 4. all reviews »
The location is excellent and the one bedroom suite is very roomy and homey. The spaciousness. It reminded me of my old NYC apartment. We received a free upgrade to a suite. All suite layout, location, price. Excellent and well equipped room/apartment. I stayed at the 12th floor where it was also very quiet. However, I overheard guests staying further down who said it was noisy. The hotel was located close by to many of the iconic sites of the city, all within reasonable walking distance. Thought this was a excellent option while staying in NY for over a week, as you have your 'own apartment'.Excellent value, spacious room, we had a wonderful time and will go back. Great location. Nice atmosphere and spacious and comfy room.Central location, friendly staff and value for money. Helpfulness and pleasantness of staff. The size of the room and facilities. Spacious rooms, excellent staff.location,comfort. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. The accomodatations were as advertised, and relatively comfortable. The location was great, and the ambiance off the Buckingham was felt good.Very accessible to all attraction in all nyc area very clean littlekitchen on the room . very nice big room very comfortable. large comfortable room with fully supplied kitchen made it easy to have quick snacks before leaving for a long day. great location. location. The rooms were very spacious (which is unusual for New York!) which was great - the wooden floors were a great touch and made the room feel very homely, like your own apartment. Location and the space in the room. We asked for a room with a new sleeper sofa and we got it. It really wasn't bad to sleep on.The location was a selling point for me. The cleanliness and coziness of the room was also a plus. Ample space in the apartment. Ease of access to a number of tube lines.Spacious room, excellent situated, elegant atmosphere. very helpful, amenable staff, and comfortable room. The space for the entire family was fantastic. Location was fantastic.Rooms was big with separate mstr bedroom and sleeper sofa. Great forfamilys with young kids. Location is great... 2 short blocks south ofCentral Park, one long block from 5th Avenue shopping and Brgdrf Goodmnand fao Schwarz and across the street from Carnegie Hall. A 7 minute walkto the heart of Times Sqr and a 10 min. Subway ride to the rest ofManhattan (Stat of Lib, Finance Distrct, Chnatwn. The location was great. I liked the amount of space you had. The staff was very accommodating. The location was extremely convenient for walking, shopping, andthe subway. convenient to Theater district and shopping in mid-town Manhattan. The room was much more spacious than I expected. Large amount of room very friendly staff. Central location to many great places. Spacious rooms, quiet and comfortable. Was in a prime position. Apart from the comments below, it was great. Good to have a fridge and freezer. The latter meant we could fill water bottles and take out frozen ones for the day meaning we had access to cold water all day - it's the small things. The kids loved sitting in bed watching TV - not something we do at home! Location was great. Good cafes for breakfast nearby - the Parissiene was our favourite. The size of the rooms, staff were polite and helpful, and the location was fantastic. Privacy, cleanleness of the hotel. Large rooms, but tiny bathrooms. Location and space in the rooms. Location was great. Great location. Location. location. We loved having an apartment for our stay, especially since there were three of us. It's nice to have a living room and a kitchen where you can gather your strength for your next adventure. The location of the hotel was really great. The rooms were cleaned in the morning while we had breakfast outside. An accommodation for three grown-up persons.the streets were rather noisy. No. Of course the tub and shower needs modernization, but it was fine for us.No - except free internet access in lobby was advertised, but not available. would suggest to see a few rooms as the standard of fixtures/fittings vary. The mattress on the sofa bed could do with changing as you could feel the springs when you lie down. Poor shower pressure. Little things have gone unrepaired (towel rack, bangs to walls, chipped furniture) as the hotel is approaching a renovation. While the suite was generally clean, it was a bit dusty. The whole hotel could use double-paned windows to help with street noise and dust. The place could also use some fresh paint. However, for a hotel built in 1929, it seems to be holding up quite well.no hotel bar or resturant. The concierges needed to be more thorough and nicer. The parking garage was not explained very clearly and there is no place to park for check-in.would have been great to have wireless internet in the rooms. The bathroom is in need of updates as well as a fresh paint job. With those, the hotel would be perfect. No kettle or electric jug. Its quite loud in the center of ny. could use a new mattress. Small bathroom but the English soaps helped make up for it. The pullout bed was lumpy but the kids didn't seem to mind.I felt that the street noise was excessive. Staff was just O.K. Competent but not overly friendly. Not rude, butjust 'there'.there was too much street noise from cars, trucks etc that came into the hotel room. Our first room needed a new sofa. The bed portion was completely broken. We had to move.Although the room was on the 10th floor and with the windows closed, the room location had a lot of street noise. Everytime a car drove over a street sewage cover, the rattle of the cover made a lot of noise sounding like thunder. If you want a quiet hotel room this hotel is not for you. Or if possible request a room on the top floor and away from street noise. Bed was adequate, linens thin. The room was not ready when we arrived at approx 3pm . We were pretty exhausted by this point so the first impression of the room was not good. However, we sat in the lounge for an hour and tried again. All was then great. Our suite had a sofabed in it. The mattrass was somewhat uncomfortable and required several blankets underneath the sheets to make it OK to sleep on. The linen could have been cleaner. The fridge was very noisy.impossibility to access my e-mails through the hotel computer, noise produced by the ventilation system. FBI and police swat teams remote controlled cameras and large guns. It turned out to be a false alarm and was over by the time I got back from dinner. Hardly the hotels fault. A bit expensive but you get a lot for your money. Wrong week to visit New York as UN general meetingtakes place and all rooms more expensive than at other times. late afternoon 4-6PM room was coller than we liked. Slightly worn. We were on one of the lower floors so it was rather noisy. Also, the furniture was a bit mismatched and strangely placed. The sofa bed was pretty bad, but they gave us an extra mattress to put on top of the existing one that made it bearable. The staff was tolerant rather than friendly. Sort of helpful. The matresses in the beds were not very good for our backs (and they were noisy). The flipside of the good location is that there is a lot of traffic in the streets at all times.
