Comfortable room, albeit small. Nicely appointed shower room. Great view from window. Excellent location. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Really good breakfast. Makes me wonder about the rest of the room.Pokey corridor of an entrance with no sense of grandeur or pride... No bar or reception rooms... A sleeping machine and little else. Reception area was small and very basic. Dark frontage and reception area on the first floor.no wake up call in morning, It was booked the night before. I had to change rooms as my original stank of stale cigarette smoke, although a non-smoking room. This was easily changed though with no fuss.We found it to be very noisy. The night club adjacent to the hotel was the main culprit! It went quiet around 3am. For a place which was trying very hard to be 'designer' and cool, there were some odd features - plastic glasses for fruit juice at breakfast, for example.There is a night club opposite but noise levels did not intrude too much and if you want to go to the club the hotel offers a concession price. Staff could be more careful cleaning the rooms, not making the bed up side down, some more detail in doing the rooms.Not advised for those wanting to sleep early. Was disappoined to find that when checking out the room rate had increased but given us no prior warning, we booked for the price of £40.00 per night and were charged £45.Light bulbs in both lamps did not work. The plug to the sink was not effective. The breakfast welcome was poor and she did not expain what was available. The breakfast itself was easily just average.. Bed very uncomfortable. More down market than designer. TV in room didn't work properly.Staff at breakfast very loud, chatting to each other at the top of their voices. Kitchen adjacent to breakfast room and also very noisy. Staff need some training. The bedroom walls were so thin that one could hear everything going on in the next door room and the windows were almost impossible to open. My daughter's room phone was out of service and consequently she missed her wake-up call.There was no toilet roll in my room. The TV was not connected properly (so I could not work out how to use it). The Hairdrier did not work. The staff at breakfast were loudly chatting about their socila and private lives: I di not want to hear this. We had a total nightmare in the hotel with our first room leaking water through the roof and light switches. We were moved to a second room where the toilet seat broke, the towel holder came off in my hands and the shower flooded so badly that there was an inch of water in the bathroom each time we showered which subsequently leaked ont the carpet in the bedroom.
