After reading some other reviews we were a little worried about our stay. We have to say that our stay was excellent, our room was spotless and comfortable, the tv signal was the best I have ever had in a hotel great for listening to the radio in the morning and relazing after a busy day. The breakfast was really good plenty of it and hot with a selection of everything you could want and as a vegetarian I do not often say this. The staff were excellent for the most part they all smiled, the bar.
all reviews » I liked the fact that it was a new hotel and reasonably priced. As we travelled as a family it was good that we were put on the top floor away from noisier guests. We did have to ask for bedding for my son to sleep on the sofabed as this wasn't supplied, but this was resolved very quickly - staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. When bedding was delivered the guy asked if he could help putting it on the bed, which was very kind (sorry don't know his name). I have already recommended . A very good price for room. Nothing fancy, but extremely comfortable bed and decent pillows. Friendly and very efficient staff. We were on floor 5 and could see the river and the top of the Millennium bridge...lovely to see the colours changing at night. Convenient for quayside and buses which will take you into Newcastle city centre and station if you don't want to walk up the hills. Very close to Baltic Centre and The Sage. The staff were really friendly and couldn't be more helpful from sorting out a problem with the key card, to recommending places to eat in Newcastle. They also seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing in the North East. Definitely recommend to friends and family. Also, very quiet and comfortable room - no outside noise whatsoever. Location excellent for Newcastle and bonus having lots of parking on site. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The hotel itself was lovely. We didn't use the bar as were out most of the day and night. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The car park charge is £5 for 24 hours, which is quite cheap. The hotel is not far from Newcastle center. It cost us £4 in a taxi back even after 12. Good value for money and an alternative to higher priced central hotels. The hotel was very modern and the decor was great. It was very clean in all areas, especially in the rooms. On the whole, the service was great and the staff were very welcoming. The best thing about the hotel was the buffet breakfast. It was good quality foodand great value for money. Would definitely stay here again. Overall, its a great hotel and great value. Location was good - we walked across to st James park for the football and the town Centre is really close as well for shopping and food. The room was very tidy and clean and the pictures actually reflected what our room looks like. The bathroom was the cleanest and most appealing Of any hotel I have stayed in this year. Good value for money. the staff are A credit to the company the hotel is very modern and attractive tastefull decor and fittings breakfast was A real treat and the kids eat free. as well as the full english breakfast,were veggies and there was plenty of choice for us including museli,fresh nuts and dried fruit as well as our very own carton of organic soya milk!!. On arrival I had to wait at reception while a group of 15+ girls on a hen do checked in, I noticed my room was on the same floor, explained to receptionist to save me coming down later on and complaining I think it's best to put myself on another floor, she was very accomodating and moved me to level 5 where I didn't hear a thing. Loved the Hotel - Friendly reception staff. Room was very spacious and the beds were so comfortable. Very clean/tidy and the bathroom/shower (I wanted to take it home with me). Would stay here again - was so easy to get to from Newcastle train station - Q1 bus dropped you right outside the Hotel, Thanks for a great stay :). Rooms were modern and clean. The room service prices were very reasonable and not 'hotel prices', food was delicious! Although this hotel is a little away from the city centre, there is ample parking for only £5 per day and the free wifi is another added bonus! Would definitely stay here again!. After suffering from shopping trauma, having taken my shopaholic Wife to Newcastle for the weekend, I found the hotel a great place to wind down, enjoy a meal, a couple of beers and I was grateful for the really comfy bed. Am sure we will be back, cos she told me we will. The closeness to the Sage which we were going to. The quietness despite the fact that these are 2 cities separated by a river. The meal offer available for eating before 6pm. The room was clean, tidy quiet, well-appointed and with a view towards the Sage and the river. The staff were excellent, very helpful. The room was spacious and gleaming clean. The restaurant provided such a beautiful meal, at a very reasonable price. The bar had a wide range of drinks, also at a good price. The seating areas were very comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast was very good, hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, room and particularly the king size bed! staff were all pleasant and friendly. Location for both the city and for the Sage is good. All in all a very nice experience and will definitely use again. Allthough it was pricy the breakfast was great. parking was Ideal and the staff allowed us to leave the car in the car park and pay later during check in so we could wonder the city without worry. the place was tidy and they have wetrooms which are awesome. Hotel was close enough to walk into city centre, near the Millennium Bridge, an amazing piece of modern art. Went back later evening to watch it go up. Cathedral interesting. People friendly. Was there less than a full day so no time to see much else. We stayed at this hotel for 2 night while we was in Newcastle Christmas shopping and the hotel and staff where great. On our second night we had our evening meal at the hotel, it was fantastic. I will use this hotel again when we return to Newcastle. Bar &public area very comfy , very sociable kids and I got speaking to lots off quests. It has a young demographic with a lot of young people heading out for the nightlife. This wasn't a concern for us as we were there for the same. Room was big with a huge bed! Walk in shower with lots of room. Everything was lovely. There were lots of staff always available and all staff were friendly. The hotel offers excellent value for money. It's fairly basic but adequate, clean, quiet and friendly. The hotel is on the 'Q' bus route which links with the Central Station and Newcastle city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bus stop right outside hotel which takes you into Newcastle Centre for easy access to other transport. Food in hotel was also good especially buffet breakfast. Great location - somewhere safe to park the van - excellent staff - great breakfast - and handy for the many quality pubs particularly the Central, Gateshead and the Free Trade Inn. Staff were very helpfull and not just with the hotel as we were going to a concert in Sunderland they sorted out info for trains metro and buses also printed off maps and timetables. 2nd time staying at the ramada and both times have been excellent. The cleanliness, friendliness & professionalism of the Ramada encore Newcastle is miles ahead of the Leicester one. Location was perfect for us. Beds were comfortable. Quiet during the night, but that may just be due to our room being away from lifts, reception area etc. Wet room...lots of water escaping. Inefficient extractor fan. Rather small, thin towels. No drawers. The wheels on the bed! Trying to sit up in bed with a cup of tea in the morning and the bed kept sliding forwards. Also, the room was supposed to have a view of a landmark (as advertised) - it didn't! I guess this was due to building works etc. Breakfast expensive - should consider doing what Jury's Inn do and offer full breakfast for £10 and a breakfast roll for £3.50. Service was quite slow in the morning after breakfast at the bar as there seemes to be a lack of staff. There was only one towel in our room when we got there. We both wanted to take a shower and I would expect that we would each have a towel in the bathroom. We notified reception and they brought 4 towels to our room so it was quickly resolved. You have to pay £5 to park - I feel this should be part and parcel of staying at the hotel and you shouldn't have to pay out of pocket. Most guests are on Hen and Stag do's quite loud in the bar and corridors throughout the night. Air conditioning outside the window was a little noisy at times. The shower was supposed to be a 'power shower' but the water pressure was not great at all!. The weekend went too quickly. Can't think of anything for this box. I found the kingsize bed to be a little annoying, as during the night the bed kept separating. The room was pretty cold, and the heater didn't do much to correct this. The smoking area was sheltered but could do with a seating area. the drink prices in the bar are a little high as well as the food prices. Liked everything. Staff were friendly but were not alway very clear. Being Scottish I know how important it is to speak clearly for an audience who is not from the same area. Having to pay a car parking fee. Only 2 real issues - the mattress on the children's bed in the family room was dreadful - thin with metal springs just under surface. We solved this ourselves by asking for an extra duvet which, folded double on mattress, made it bearable to sleep on. Other problem not hotel's fault - noisy guests woke us up repeatedly in the night. With all the lights situated around the walls the room lighting was a little too dark, but that is just me - I like bright rooms!!. car park charge. Nothing. After dinner coffee was a bit insipid, but perhaps I should have asked for an expresso. Limited car parking spaces. The mattress on the sofa bed on which our grandsons slept was uncomfortable as springs came through, this meant we had to turn it every morning. My friend asked to borrow an iron, which didn't work. He asked for a replacement and that wasn't great either!. The room was very cold, even with the small heater on! However it was December so this could be expected. Not a fan of wood flooring in a bedroom, makes the room feel cold. Didn't like the red theme either. No shaver point in the bathroom. Not may healthy options on the menu. The gym is tiny, 1 tread mill, 1 rowing machine, 1 cross trainer and 1 reclining bench with a hand full of small weights, more than 2 people using the gym at a time is a problem. No complaints. My only slight niggle would be the bed sheet was stained brown and house keeping we're very vocal in the morning. No negative points. There were only a few things which werent of major importance. The room was still chilly even though we had the heating on, and lastly the beds that were pushed together kept on splitting apart which unfortunatly was not comfortable at all. Surroundings not much to write home about. Rip-off £5 car park charge. Immediate surroundings a little bleak. Rather too many "stags and hens" in evidence but to be fair they only disturbed us once and this is clearly a Newcastle-Gateshead issue, not one unique to the Ramada Encore. Kids bed - mattress had springs / buttons sticking up which made it uncomfortable for kids sleeping. Lighting in the bathrooms is inadequate ie doesn't provide good illumination. nothing apart from waking up with a hangover the next nyte lol. Pillows. Poor quality. Breakfast croissants were at least a day old ...
