The hotel was very adequate for my stay within walking distance to the railway station and the Arena having not been to Manchester for several years the hotel was very clean and suuitable for a short stay. The friendliness of the staff and the fact that we could access our rooms early after a long trip to Manchester. The room was very large and well equiped. the hotel was exceptionally clean. We would dedfinately stay there again.The cleanliness of the hotel room. the hotel was really nice. The location. staff were very helpful, and the hotel is very clean and in the middle of the city. Very central and staff very helpful. In a very central location - close to rail and bus stations - relatively quiet for city central location.The staff put themselves out to find me an appropriate room (the hotel was full of Rangers fans!). The room was very cosy and we were given 2 key cards for a twin room. The place of hotel is very good, close to every live area on foot. The card to unlock the door it took me about 5 attempts everytime to getinto my room. Could be more attractive if brighter reception area.A bit tired but then, the price is good and definitely good value. there were three options on the way you could have the egg cooked in the full English breakfast. The waiters did not ask the guests. do not have theethbrush. There was no remote for the TV in the room. I mentioned this at reception and was told that a maintenance man would try and find one. No remote ever appeared in the room. I did a lot of hopping in and out of bed that night which is good exercise, but i would have prefered to have the remote.public areas are a bit shabby, bar area not very inviting. the lack of spirits tc we werent able to have our regular short as theyd run out. No Car Parking. net curtains in room were very dirty. the lighting in the bedroom was very dull and not suitable to read by. Was at the front of the hotel right next to the neon sign and a little bit noisy being on Piccadilly Gardens. The rooms could do with a refresh, but comfortable enough.Room was at the back, and woken up very early by bottles and bins being emptied from the pub opposite. 1.Shower head did not work properly - cold water tap did not work but cold water came out of the shower head! 2. There was a pervading smell of stale tobacco smoke in the room so even my clothes smelt of it next morning, 3. I could not open the window. 4. I found (and left there) 20p on the bathroom floor. Had the floor been cleaned? 5.Unfresh smell in corridors and elevator. The room needed more light. Bathroom should be renovated. Only that the window would'nt shut properly, and hand print's on the wall, from a previous, resident !. Room in need of decoration. tv set did not have good reception, the window would not open fully.
