room was excellent comfortable stay also i made a phonecall earlier in the week to organise a bottle of champagne and flowers for my girlfriend,staff were very helpful and discreet when arrived so nice surprise for her when got into the room and they were placed on the table in room with a welcome plate with chocolate,thankyou. There robes and slippers i felt fresh soft and cosy loved it. The spacious room and all the extra as we booked into the excecutive suite we decided to spoil ourselfs and are glad we did, it was worth every penny, we normally stay in a premier inn, but there really wasn't that much difference in price so glad we.
all reviews » All in all it was a really good stay at the hotel. It is very centrally located next to loads of bars and clubs. The staff were very helpful and polite and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. My only issue is the value for money and the fact they don't include breakfast in what is a "premium" room rate. The closet is huge. The staff are excellent, as is the location near Manchester Chinatown and Manchester Piccadilly Station (although, we discovered later that Manchester Oxford Road station might be closer). The cheese board in the restaurant was fabulous. I thought the hotel design was really modern, and the staff are the best i have come across in any hotel, everyone of them was so helpful and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you, It is the best hotel i have stayed in for over all satisfaction. Staff is absolutely amazing!!!! Thank you so much for your service!!! If you need a nice hotel in the centre of Manchester and you don't mind the street noise you can go ahead and book this hotel. Very clean and great staff!. Bathroom was funky & modern however bath could be a little larger!! Fab room & very pleasant stay with all wanted facilities. Staff were extremely helpful & polite. The bar staff in particular were really good (and kept the Bellini's flowing!!), overall a great hotel. The staff were all interested in the clients and made me feel welcome. For example, at breakfast they asked for my name not my room number. It made a huge difference to the way I felt. The food was also excellent. We are unsure if we heard lots of people on the street or lots of people going to/from the elevators, or both, but there was a fair amount of noise. Not so much we could not sleep, but enough that we woke up to it a few times. Beware of the adjoining rooms!!!! You will "enjoy" your neighbors like if they are having a party in your room. Street Noise. If you are looking for relaxation, you might consider elsewhere. N/A. The NOISE - windows that don't close properly and being above a nightclub alleyway. Expensive coffee and breakfast, but good quality £40 for breakfast for two people is a little too much for us. The price of the full english breakfast - too expensive. There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel. It was utterly wonderful. The location was noisy. Manchester; it rained! :( Only because I'm a bit of a porker but the shower could have been bigger for me - but on the other hand maybe I should eat less... sigh. Nothing, I couldnt find a fault if I tried!. The only thing I didnt like that there was no parking so had ti park a few minutes up road in a pay car park which cost us £48 for the weekend. Also the sign of hotel isn't very visible at night so we drove past it a few times when arriving in dark. Tv reception and Internet were poor Shower stalls are far too small, it's impossible to shower without banging your elbows off the walls. They cook the full breakfast to order, so if you are in a rush you may only have time for a continental breakfast. Didnt have a pool/spa which would have been nice after a day of shopping!. The breakfast was very expensive @ 17.95 and charged an extra 2.00 for salmon on scrambled eggs ... Price of breakfast. We liked everything!. Breakfast very expensive. We went to local restaurant 100 m. up the road towards picadilly station Saturday night can be a bit noisy in and around the hotel. Small-ish room. Very poor television facilities. remote is pre programmed so that no Tele Text is available and the TV Guide cannot be accessed. This applied in both of the rooms we booked and is probably standard thoughout. There appears to be several different evening menus and it took us some time to unearth the more extensive one and we only got that one by insisting that we knew it existed somewhere. Only staircase access to the hotel Location - Portland St a bit seedy No car park on site. Too long a wait to check in. nothing really. Both mornings shower was lukewarm. Downside of location: noisy on Friday/Saturday night. Woke up fairly frequently and I'm not a light sleeper!. nothing actually. A little pricey but would definitely return. A little bit noisy in the street. The shower was a hazard. the head was leaking, the pressure went from full to NONE then returned red hot changing to cold. Only downfall was that our room was facing the main road and noise was disturbing. All good. City noise. Took me a while to open the window an turn radiator off as it was incredibly hot when I first walked in but the friendly staff talked me through. Nothing, overall was a great weekend. Bedroom windows didn't open; staff not very informative, seemed too busy to be genuinely welcoming. Disappointing breakfast experience, had to wait ages to be seated, many items on the buffet had run out, dirty crockery left on tables, and over priced. The one waiter was run off his feet trying to do everything, although amazingly he managed to stay calm and cheerful!.
