Our room was lovely and fairly large by London standards. The sofa converted into an extra bed for my father, who was travelling with us; even in this configuration, there was plenty of space in which to move around. The building seems once to have been a very elegant townhome, and our room (#14) retained some traces of that past; it had a high ceiling, a fireplace (no longer functional) with an elaborately-carved mantle and surround, and an equally impressive window.
