What people say
Right from the minute the lift opened at reception area, we were very warmly welcomed by two lovely girls who were genuinely pleased to see us.
This did not stop there...each and every member of staff from the domestics to the bar staff, to the waiters at breakfast to the reception were absolutely fantastic, so helpful, cheery going about their work and willing to go the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
I cannot rate the staff highly enough and if any premier inn . all reviews »
Stayed in the Premier inn on Princess street from the 2th to 23rd of Nov 2013. The Hotel is just a 5-7min walk from the waverly railway station and is directly opposite the famous Edinburgh Castle. Although we dint spend much time in the hotel and dint get a chance to dine in, but the Hotel was very nice, Clean and had all amenities one could ask for. A value for money hotel for people travelling to Scotland and are in a mood to Explore rather than stay in!.
a wonderful stay the beds were very comfortable which makes a huge difference when doing alot of travel, the staff went out of their way to serve us and assist us, the room was clean and had good space in it for the family, we were very happy there, the views and location was A++++ EXCELLENT! so close to everything, we just walked everywhere. Breakfast was excellent also...we would definately stay again and recommend Premier Inn Princes Street Fantastic!!!.
The location of the hotel was absolutely excellent and although it is centered right in the middle of Princess Street you could not hear the hustle and bustle of the street.
The staff were very friendly knowledgable and helpful. They took their time to help you and were always approachable.
Couldn't fault the hotel.
The rooms were very comfortable. I spent three nights and all nights we had a restful sleep.
Location was great, right on Princes Street, which is just behind Rose
St. Where all the pubs, restaurants are. Very convenient, we had lunch
and dinner in the area every day. It is around 15 minutes by foot from
the Royal Mile, very good location! 30 mins of free internet was nice
too, although in Edinburgh you get free WiFi pretty much everywhere,
especially in the pubs. Brilliant.
The front desk staff was very helpful and welcoming, both when we arrived and as we checked out. They held our luggage until we were ready to take our train, too.
The room was a great size and the bed was extremely comfortable.
You can't beat the location, either - right in the centre of the shopping area, with a gorgeous view of Edinburgh Castle.
The location of the hotel is great, really close to waverley train station and there is a bus station infront of the hotel. The castle and the old town is close by walking (app.15 min), the room was clean and the staff was really helpfull. I'll definitely suggest this hotel according to the money you paid and the service you get.
Everything was perfect, the staff were always very friendly and helpful.
Our room was just as described and was quite spacious for a standard
hotel room. Breakfast had everything you need. Location was good, right
on Princes street so easy to get to all the sights and public transport.
Extremely good value for money.
The location, for us having travelled to Edinburgh by train, was very
good. We were happy to find that we had a small view of the castle from
our window (not necessary, but quite a pleasant surprise). It was really
good that there was very little traffic noise in our room & security
was well thought out.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was convenient to Edinburgh Castle and was close to a variety of restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The on-site restaurant was good. We were so impressed with Premier Inn that we stayed at another one of their properties in Inverness, Scotland.
We liked everything about this hotel and it certainly lived up to the
good reviews we had read before choosing it. All the staff were polite
and helpful from check-in to check out, the room was comfortable and
clean and the breakfast was first class and great value. We would really
love to return soon!.
Good sized room, comfortable and very clean (a characteristic
applicable to the hotel as a whole). Friendly and helpful staff. The
restaurant was perfectly fine with tables looking out at the castle.
Excellent location and value for money. Has a left luggage room and
labelling of items left their.
staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and was cleaned daily, hairdryer and tea making facilities in room. Amazing central location in the heart of the city minutes away from shops and restaurants. I would definetely recommend the Premier Inn Princes street to ANYONE.
The hotel and staff were excellent. Everything was dealt with efficiently and with a very pleasant manner. We were very impressed with every member of staff that we dealt with. Cleanliness and comfort first class and an excellent view as a bonus. Would recommend it every time.
Great location, walked from Waverley train station. All shops & restaurants on the doorstep. One of our rooms had an amazing castle view. Food in hotel was good. Beds & pillows exceptionally comfortable, great friendly helpful staff, will definitely stay again.
Location - 10 min walk to Waverley train station, 15-20 mins to the castle and the Royal Mile. It's also within a few steps of a variety of shops.
View - the 6th floor had a fantastic view of the castle.
Staff - very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.
stayed at princess street premier inn on the 11th nov for two nights with my wife, the staff were very nice and very helpfull, the location of the hotel was very good for us to get to places of our choices, would stay again on our next visit from pembrokeshire.
Great girl on the front desk ( so sorry did not get her name)who didnt mind that we were not in our happiest places after traveling and a meeting, and being send to the wrong Premier Inn.. The staff were great, Scot very helpful and breakfast was super.
Food and service was excellent with very friendly staff so my wife and myself will definitely use this hotel again. Location was excellent with a view of the Castle from our bedroom window. Had my wife's favourite wine in Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc.
Magnificent hotel! Great location, excellent choice! Edinburgh is an amazing city!!! Premier Inn is an amazing hotel, in one of the best areas of Edinburgh ! Very clean, design hotel, near to bus station. Very polite staff! I recomment this hotel!!!.
Best place we stayed in while on our 21 day tour of Europe. Views to the Edinburgh Castle and city landscapes were to die for. The staff was super and should be condemned for a job well done. We hated leaving. We recommend this hotel highly.
Princess Inn is right opposite the Edinburgh Castle on the Main thorough fare, Princes Street. Bus stops are near by. For those of who are interested in shopping, all the major brands have retails outlets within walking distance.
The location of the hotel is good you are within walking distance of most of the sights
We were lucky enough to be given a room at the front of the hotel, the view was spectacular. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
A great hotel in the middle of the city, with view (if you a lucky to
get a room facing it) to the amazing castle. Great location for
visiting the city. Good breakfast with first class yogurt available!
Child friendly.
The Premier Inn at Edinburgh was great. The location was fabulous and all the staff were very nice. We stayed with our two children and the room was small but comfortable. Couldn't ask for anything more for the price.
Great location, super friendly and very helpful staff who took time to interact with guests throuhgout their stay. A very comfortable, clean environment, the hotel definitely enhanced a great Edinburgh experience.
WOW, great staff, nice clean rooms, and facility. Location superb for shopping in Edinburgh and the view of the Edinburgh Castle was amazing out the hotel windows. Staff helpful in whatever you needed or asked!!!!.
A no frills hotel but not lacking in comforts. May be the quietest city hotel room I've ever stayed in. The young staff (especially Sara and Faye) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location was perfect.
Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with freshly cooked food
available right up until the 'official' end time. Great location
in relation to all the attractions and great access to public transport.
Friendly and helpfull staff, clean room with good view of the castle, good English breakfast.Easy access to shops and city.Easy for bus to and from the airport.12 pm check out time was also helpfull.
Central location, staff all very friendly and helpful, and rooms were surprisingly quiet for being in the centre of Edinburgh! Would definitely recomend to visitors to Edingburgh to stay there.
Great location, close to main train station and next to major bus lines. The hotel is on the main shopping avenue, and very close to main attractions. The old town is 10-15 mins. by walking.
I was very impressed with my first visit to a premier inn. Spotlessly clean and very friendly staff , breakfast was very good so much choice, will stay again. Security was also vg felt safe.
close to all amenities including shops and tourist spots.
We had a problem with the water supply in our family room but we were given an alternative room and compensation for our trouble.
A fantastic stay. Staff were friendly and helpful finding information and bus times. Breakfast was excellent and our room was clean and comfy.I would highly recommend this fabulous hotel.
Everything, it was lovely and clean, staff were very pleasent and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty. The room was comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay.
The nicest staff I have encou tered in any hotel very considerated to our needs would recommend this hotel to anyone I will be booking premier inn from now on when I'm in the uk.
Great friendly staff, decent food, clean serviceable room, great location, great price. Very impressed, will seek out Premier Inn again. Can teach others a thing or two.
the staff was very helpfull, the room was beautifull, clean and with a great view to the castle (615). The hotel also provides 30' free wifi . The location is ideal.
Just spent Easter here ideal spot facing the castle, everything you would want is walking distance, spotless hotel friendly staff good breakfast cooked or continental.
The location is fantastic, the bar/breakfast area overlooks the castle.
The staff were very helpful, helping us find a take out, as we landed in the city very late.
The hotel was near to all the shops and places of interest, the hotel has a fab location, the staff and hotel 1st Class and the rooms were clean and well presented.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast. Good choice on food
menu. Spacious rooms Relaxed atmosphere Central position Cleanliness
More or less everything.
Staff is very friendly and helpful
Location is great
Price is very reasonable
Bed is comfortable
View is excellent (provided that the room is castle view).
We loved the location! We also loved the cleanliness, the space in the room, the quality of the furnishings (the bed!) and the helpfulness of the staff!.
Staff were friendly and kind. Location is perfect as it has an easy access to most of the tourist spots and transport links. Great experience overall.
Everything from the moment we walked in great staff. Room had the
Edinburgh castle view beautiful. Meal was lovely and bar service very
good a*******.
Sara is a wonderful lady, so very helpful and friendly. She is a treat to deal with.
The view of the Castle and mountain is fabulous--the view.....
The location was great. Had a great view of the castle. Close to dining and shopping. Bar in hotel had great value. Room and bath were large.
Staff excellent, room comfortable, good breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Hotel central for shopping and Art Galleries.
Having to leave!.
Nothing really.
We were happy with the hotel, but it would be nice to have at least some
cheap soap-shampoo bottle/kit as in most hotels. There was only soap
in the bathtub, but if you want to use proper shampoo or conditioner,
forget about it!.
It must be a UK thing, but when I asked for some face cloths, they said they don't provide those. I had to purchase some at the drugstore.
Free wifi wasn't included but it was very cheap anyway.
The in-house restaurant food, although adequate is not exactly
exciting, &, when you stay in a number of the Premier Inns across
the uk, as we did, it becomes very predictable, no matter what brand of
restaurant chain.
Nothing!.
The electrical distribution box buzzed quite loudly - but we just took
the key card out of the activation slot at night whilst sleeping and
this sorted the problem!.
Nothing!!.
nothing,
we had a good experience.
Nothing at all.
Distance to train station was more than a 20 min walk with luggage. Price was more expensive than even Paris hotels.
Only getting one hand towel on the 2nd and every following day. I was told at reception it was because premier inn has a green policy. One hand towel between two adults is not enough.
Breakfast was very poorly organized for such a big hotel. People had to
queue for the hot food to be ready. Parking is not easy but is
discounted if you park in the parking garage next to the.
Only negative was that windows in the center of the hotel could not be opened for fresh air, BUT they were right there to provide fans for your room!.
Slight hiccup with booking system which indicated to staff that I was a
lone traveller rather than a family as booked so additional beds not
make up which took a while to resolve. Lack of access to the hotel for
loading/unloading of luggage.
Nothing.
The air quality in the room was terrible due to AC not set up properly and locked windows.
Absolutely Nothing !!.
When I say the comfort was fair the air conditioner did not work for when we were there but they provided fans.
the windows dont open.
Bar prices are a bit steep £3.60 for a half pint bottle of lager £13.50 a bottle of house red so if you take a drink take plenty of cash apart from that though everything else is very good.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Following is my recommendation
1.24hrs free Wifi
2.a safe box
3.toothpaste and slippers.
I would have liked a hair dryer!.
at the back of the hotel ... not so much.
The food on the breakfast buffet was OK. Would have liked ice machines on each floor.
No shampoo, shower cap etc in room.
No toilet brush in bathroom.
