What people say
The room was very modern and very clean, also it was very central which made easy access to all the amenities. It is being reefurbished and the hotel will be excellent when it is completed, worth going back to. The staff were very friendly and it had a good location near to the centre of town. The hotel also had free parking (if you can get a space) which was handy. Breakfast was also included which was a bonus.all reviews »

Will definately return. all the staff were very helpful and friendly, the meals were excellent and the room was very clean and comfortable, would recommend to all my friends.Everything, the staff and the hotel fantastic. Even though thgey hadre-furbishments going on the end product which you saw made the workworth while. The room was superb. The actual price deal was also excellent. However Ido not think the normal price for the room is reasonable. The rooms were excellent a vast improvement on my last visit pre refurbishment. Service was excellent and staff most helpfull. It was great they had bt openzone as I could check my emails and work inthe evening and moring in my bedroom ,excelent !!. Breakfast to expensive went somewhere else beautiful room very nice staff. We complained about being put in the wrong room and the staff acted immediately and got us moved into another room. The bedrooms had been beautifully refurbished and staff were very pleasant and helpful. the locality of the hotel. hotel was very clean. no complaints about hotel. Rooms very comfortable and modern. Well situated.location of hotel, hotel in general was lovely. New fitout of room and meal in restaurant. the room. Location. The Thistle Aberdeen Caledonian is ideally situated in te centre ofAberdeen just minutes walk from shops, pubs and restaurants. Mygirlfriend and I stayed for one night and couldn't believe how nice theroom was. It looked so clean and modern as though it were brand new. Also, the staff were extremely friendly and we'll definately stay againnext time we visit Aberdeen. We were lucky enough to find that we had been upgraded to one of thenewly upgraded rooms, which was fabulous. We were only there overnightto drop my other son off at the university, however, we were veryimpressed and would definitely recommend.A really lovely room and a great breakfast choice available. Located right in the heart of Aberdeen so easy access to everything. The position of hotel with use of carpark makes an ideal place for shopping and theatres all within walking distance.Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Ideal for theatre, museums and city centre shopping. Good food and drinks on site. friendly helpfull staff and generous upgrade to executive suite by management for my stay.cleanliness and the modern room. the location was great. The buffet breakfast. Cleanliness of room. This hotel is ideally situated right in the centre of Aberdeen. The roomwas newly refurbished, so excellent en-suite bath/shower room, massiveflat screen tv and very comfortable bed. On arrival, a slight crack inthe ceiling of our room (a problem during redecoration) wasapologetically explained to us. Breakfast was excellent with plenty leftto eat even for late risers!. Upgrade to a suite which had just been newly renovated - beautiful view over the city - evening meal was excellent as was the service. Staff very friendly and helpful.I liked the fact that the hotel was very clean. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. We were given an upgrade, the room was excellent. Clean and comfotable room. How central it was. The meal was lovely. Great value for money.Free upgrade, bed, bathroom and breakfast. the location for theatre and shops. The modern and comfortable rooms. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful - changed my room to a smoking room (as requested on booking form, but not supplied) Comfortable room, best night's sleep for a long time. Quiet location.Excellent room service provided with lovely food, also requests for breakfast were met. The people were very helpful to us when asked questions on places to eat or visit.Excellent location with easy access to the shops and sights of Aberdeen. easy access to shopping. Central location was perfect, business during the day, and a cracking night life to relax within in the evening. The room was far too hot with no real way of cooling it down. We did open the window but it didn't cool the room down much. The modernised rooms however were better. There is some renovation work going on at the hotel which is due to go on until Oct 2008 but it didn't really bother us.There are not enough car parking spaces. A nicer residents bar. The cafe bar bistro was not to our liking and we retired to our room with room service as more comfortable than bistro bar. The car park was on the small size. Had to park in another car park. The only down point of our stay was when we left the hotel parking area our wing mirror on our car was broken off.We visited Aberdeen first time and we missed only carpark in this hotel. The hotel has carpark but was full. We needed find carpark somewhere around, what was quite dificult especialy friday early afternoon. But the hotel we liked very very much. Could do with sky tv.price of drinks. The only disappointment was the restaurant inside the hotel closingbefore 8pm on the Sunday night we stayed.Really small car park that was full by the time we arrived at 7:30 and so we had to leave car in public car park around the corner. Not too much of a problem. car parking. Was given the wrong room to start with. Booked a double room and recieved a twin. Then when we got our room, it was smaller than the first and there was scaffolding outside the widow, blocking all daylight. my only comment is that the room was very cold due to the window being left wide open and took a long time to heat up. The car park is tiny. Having said that, we did manage to get a space, asluckily someone was leaving just as we arrived. Otherwise, if you arriveby car, you might find yourself parking in nearby side streets. Infairness, it is a city centre, so I wouldn't expect acres of parking. Function on till 1 am - noise was totally unacceptable on the Saturday night - they took 10% of Saturday nights stay! but the rooms above the function should not be booked out to guests who are not attending the function. Spoiled the weekend to be honest. Guests should be told there are functions on. Saying that I would go back. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that the window was blacked out and we didnt have any natural sunlight in the room but Im assuming that was because of the building works outside. Apart from that it was perfect. I wouldm of liked a sitting area to have coffee, one with comfyarmchairs. Our room was very dark, with no natural sunlight. Parking facilities. Cooked breakfast was cold - I'm not fussy, but couldn't eat it. Did not mention this as staff busy and stressed! Slow breakfast service and check-out made me late for a meeting, just bad timing on my part I suspect, but had allowed an hour for breakfast and check-out. Limited choice of drinks in the bar and quite expensive. Also staff appearance was quite untidy.Price of internet service. room was really warm. Went for a drink, complete shambles, no fanta, shortage of Gordon's gin, mucked about cutting up fruit for drink, no change in till, change given was wrong. Breakfast was in small room, most things missing, tea and toast took forever, customers all having to ask for the food they wanted. Double beds are a bit on the small side!.
