The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the station. I loved the cozy wood paneled room. We had a room with a small balcony and enjoyed a great view of the village and the church. Ingrid (I think that's her name) is a charming and helpful women who was present at the reception. She even gave us the key to the breakfast room when she got to know that we have to leave at 6 a.m. the next morning. The location is awesome, close to the centre of everything but not so close that you are in the midst of all the nighttime activity and noise. The hotel is very clean and quiet and rooms have their own balcony. It is a charming wooden cottage-type construction. Also has it's own restaurant attached. Continental breakfast is fantastic and included in the daily rate. There is a shared shower and toilet on each floor (approximately 4-5 rooms) which are . Traditional Swiss style characterises the Hotel Weisshorn. I loved my cosy, wood-panelled room with balcony overlooking the old part of Zermatt. Although I didn't have an en suite room, toilet and shower were just a step away from the bedroom door. Ideally situated, a short walk from the station, centrally placed for cable-cars and the Gornergratbahn and shops. Spoilt for choice with the continental breakfast buffet. Amazing place just a quick walk from the station! Rooms are very cosy with wooden walls and small balcony. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice of breads, cheeses, hams amongs everything else. Very clean hotel and the fact that we had shared bathroom and toilet didn't matter much (at least for us - on our floor we had 1 separate toilet and bathroom for 3 rooms). Shower was excellent!. You get a really wonderful view of the mountain with nice houses spotted on the slope. There are only 4 rooms in a floor so sharing bathroom is not a problem. The hotel doesn't have a lift. We were fine with that, but maybe elder visitors have to take that into consideration. No elevator. So elderely people can feel some difficulty to climb the 3rd floor. the room is a little bit small but still very comfortable!. Nothing. The price I paid on-line was the same as quoted on the advertisemmet at the train station. Nothing. had to drag the luggage up to the 2nd floor as the hotel does not have any lift. entrance not good, narrow staircase. Dingy lighting in the room. just take into account there is no lift,steep stairs.do not get a taxi as it will cost you 20 francs,and it really is within a 10 minute walk from the station straight up the road..,,,. The breakfast coffee was very poor, just hot brown water, very weak, no taste. The breakfast lady was very helpful and made me special coffee by the cup from sealed cartridges but it wasn't much better though it was stronger. Get a good coffee maker and some good quality coffee and this hotel would be excellent!. No lift. nothing not to like. Very small room with outdated furniture. It is suited more for young travelers without any comfort requirements, but for Switzerland it is not that expensive. Not convenient for the traveller who has big luggage if you stay at 4th floor and you must walk up to the small wooden staircase.
