The Spar Majorna is located on a tram line that makes it very easy and inexpensive to get around Gothenburg. Neighborhood is a little funky, but several good restaurants within a short walk, and you can always go to the Center on the tram if you want more "action:. Hotel design is nice "Mid 20th Century Scandinavian Modern". Staff is very friendly and helpful. Given that this is a nice hotel in the center of a major city in Sweden, prices are quite reasonable, but it's not cheap.
all reviews » Everything was precisely as it was written on the letsbookhotel.com. We had a smaal double room. The room was small, but clean. The bed was comfortable and its size 140 was enough for us. As for budget hotel the breakfast was perfect. There were plenty of cold dishes and hot was enough, bread was good too. Location was convinient to reach many areas of the city. The garage was a big advantage for us too. As a result, everething was perfect for this price (95 eur per night). We stayed in a small double. The room was just as it was described on the site. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent for a budget hotel. Underground secure parking was included as was excellent wifi. We were easy driving and tram distance from the center and our work location. Highly recommend the Volvo Museum. Even if they took our room number we did not get anything. Also, in the bathroom there was only shampoo & soap mix but nothing else such as hair conditioner, cotton, shower cap etc (as you always find in hotels). So for that also we went to the reception but they were clueless. So i recommend (especially to ladies) to bring what they need in advance. Limited parking at the hotel otherwise you have to pay to park on the street. i dont like the way of offering the soap and hair shampoo at the pathroom. Too many doors to open to reach the room. The room is quite small. The shower was not really warm The coffee is (still) miserable, although I have been telling them for Years!. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. parking limited when busy rooms at front on street can be noisy. Everything was great. We booked a small standard room with 1 bed (=140 cm). But there was only 1 blanket so the night was a fight... The swedish bread. local bars/restaurants not as good as the city. Small room with small bed, but we knew this at booking. The second morning the staff had problems keeping up with the demands of visitors at breakfast, and things kept running out. Small rooms & bed. The bar closes too early on a saturday night :(. I stayed in a room with 2 twin beds and I have to stay that they are to small. A disadvantage was also the tram. We stayed at the 5th floor and every time the tram was passing the front of the hotel you could hear it really loud. -It does not have good air conditioning in rooms for warm days of summer (more than 25C). - The restaurant of hotel does not have a different kinds of food. you have 3-4 choice in each day. - The Wifi is not fast and disconnects a lot. Unfortunately, our neighbours next door were being quite loud, when they got back at 3am being very drunk... Quite far from the city center and little rooms, even if they refurbished recently. Room was not that clean. Not everyone of the staff was that friendly. nothing, everything was fine. They started clearing the breakfast buffet 5 good minutes before 11 am, making me feel unwelcome. The cleaning person left my window wide open despite -5c outside, my room was cold when I got back at night so I couldn't sleep.
