  We had no problems parking-and ended up seeing the hotel as soon as we emerged from the garage-perfect! It's right next to the police station, so very quiet and safe (not that other parts of the city aren't). It was a very short walk to the cathedral and the city was fantastic to wander through. The heat was on, there was a hair dryer for me to use, they even had an electric kettle and tea sitting in our room - It was excellent in all ways * it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !! I d stay there again ~~)

  We stayed as a family of 4 at the Montes Pension Boutique as a city break to Santiago in July. The location is perfect, just around the corner from the cathedral and main square. Extremely quiet and a quiet location on the university's old campus. Good continental breakfast. Lots of free parking. The owner gave us a guided tour to explain the history of the property and the rennovation process -- fascinating. The bistro had delicious fare and a lovely ambience. It was simpl - Great attention to detail, whithout being stuffy our pretentious. One felt at home and confortable. Newspapers are available in the reception area and books in the lounge, and drinks are available in the mini bar of the room free of charge. We had dinner one night at the hotel and enjoyed it greatly. We overheard quite a few clients mentioning that they had been there before and were planning to return.
