location is more than perfect in the middle of the very live street in Madrid. you can just go down and you will see people still going walking everywhere even at 2:00pm. Staff were friendly and you can leave your luggage there after checking out. Internet is very fast and stable. room was really clean but somehow small. I loved the room decor. Decent hot water, comfortable bed, fun overall decor. It felt very 'Spain'. We we given complimentary coffee in the morning even though we didn't have the room and breakfast package.

Brilliant location. Our rooms had small balconies where you could watch the world go by. Couldn't fault the room rate = great value for money. The best WiFi. Clean and organize. Muy amable, and I will come back to Madrid to stay on Hostal La Fontana. Location was great could walk to most places if not metro stop 200m away. Design, clean room and friendly stuff. The location is fantastic. Staff are very nice. Good location. Everything. The hostel is located very centrally next to Gran Via and not far from Sol. Wifi is free and works perfectly. The price is very good and the staff is friendly. The room we had was comfy, nothing to complain about. But of course this is not a classy hotel, but simple accommodation. Location was perfect. Staff (guy) was helpful. Good stuff,excellent location. good location n clean room. closer to all sighseing. Don't count at all on the breakfast even if you booked your room with it. the breakfast was just a a cake with coffee and juice, nothing else at all. I would really recommend this hostel if they would write without breakfast even with the same price. toilet and bath are small. no AC, just a fan but it is enough in madrid. Shower a bit small, but not really an issue. Nothing. A bit noisy so we shut the balcony door. Certainly couldn't complain as the noise factor goes hand in hand with a central location. Poor breakfast but for the price just a minor issue. The noise from the bar downstairs ALL night. Made It impossible to sleep. We didn't understand how breakfast works and it was not available at the hour we would have needed it (around 8 am). This is not a big deal as there are plenty of cafeterias around open at early hours. Someone in the building plays extremely loud music at some hours during the day - very disturbing. The hostel is on a street where the local youth parties Friday night and gets very noisy then. Our plane home was Sat morning so we saw the sad aftermath. No notice of change of breakfast facilities. No notice of fact that the courtyard (which sort of 'swung it' for me) was being refurbished and there was scaffolding etc outside the window. The waste on the shower was blocked to a degree and the shower tray almost over flowed. Noisy,poor breakfast, small rooms. water pressure was poor.. dirty sheets and poor breakfast.
