Location is literally right around the corner from gothic quarters, 5 minutes from Picasso Musuem, 8 minutes from Plaza Catalunya. It was safe and clean. The owner was friendly and helpful. they will email you a week before you arrive to get your arrival time. Prons: 1. The location was really great in Gothic Quarter and next to underground station. 2. The staff although their english level was strictly limited to the basics they were always willing to help. 3. Daily cleaning service!! 4. Good value for money.
all reviews » The person who runs the hotel was extremely polite, helpful, and trying to answer everything we asked him about despite his English not being excellent. Rooms were tidy, bathroom clean and the location and price were just great!. The location was excelent, between the Bari Gothic and El Born, a 10 minutes walk from the sea, and right next to metrostation Jaume I. everything was spotless. It was cheap and good vallue for money, if you don't expect a luxury hotel I would recomend it. The room was always clean, they provide towels and private wc. The rooms are small but comfortable. The location is wonderful you don't have any trouble wandering around or using public transportation. The bed is clean. Towels were replaced everyday. The location is good, right in the center of main district. They should mention the hotel is on the 3rd floor ( it wasn't until a local told me the address 3, 2 means 3rd floor, second door, but I didn't know that until then. The only con I should mention was the fact that we had no window in the bathroom or any kind of ventilation, so there was humidity after we had showers, but that's fine comparing to the price we paid. Rooms were small just like everywhere in Barcelona. These drawbacks are not a problem for me, but will list them just in case someone else cares more: - The toilet was outside the room, even though it was private (only we had the key for it) - The shower is behind a wall in the same room, so the air should be refreshed regularly - Some of the rooms look over a busy street, even though ours looked to the other side, which is more or less quiet; I explicitly required a quiet room though - The English of the staff is not particularly good. A bit of street noise in the front room, no real common areas. The entrance was under maintenance and the lifts are tiny. *The owner doesnt speak English at all but knows how to use google translate so it's not much of a problem. Would have preferred the option of using a kettle to make tea/coffee rather than have to pay for it. There wasn't heating in the room, but we got a Small heating Machine. Too much noise in the room if facing the main boulevard. Noise from street. Last night it was noisy on the street,. The room was very small, but than again, so was the price. It was everything you would expect for that price. The staff doesn't speak english but they really try to help at all times. It's tricky to find, they only have a small sign with their name. The staff members do not speak english. No bathroom inside the room. Balcony doors wouldn't close fully. Non English speaking staff. Didn't even have an AC. Entrance was horrible. The electricity was down due to construction and we had to walk through the entrance in the dark to find door of office. Elevator wasn't working. The owner barely speak English.
