The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and welcoming,always with a smile. Very good breakfast. Really couldn't have been more central for the main sites. We would definitely recommend to anyone. Lovely traditional style of hotel. Smaller historical hotel in very central location close to Red Square and Bolshoi. Perhaps it's its a Russian thing, but there weren't any tea or coffee making faculties in the room. Service at breakfast could be better: Many servants standing around, but doing nothing except refilling the buffet. Why do they e.g. not offer their guests to bring a coffee (only self service)? Should take care more of their guests!. Prices were absurdly high. But they were not much better in other hotels. There is free wi-fi in the room but if you need to use their computer and print something then prepare for more outrageous prices. Airconditioning needs improvement; no aspect from room (poor view looks over construction works). Smoking in the lounge and bar was awful. Such a beautiful room and facilities but we just couldn't sit in there. - Expected better breakfast from a 5-star hotel - found the mattresses a bit too hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast during weekend was bit caothic, missing choices, slow replenishment; however I reckon it's due a different staff assigned for weekends, as on Monday everything was just perfect. Don't expect lots of options though. Expensive. Like any other hotel in Moscow, the hotel was expensive. Smoke-filled lobby. Building site just across the street. Its a bit costy. Terrible noise literally all night from the building site opposite the hotel. Taxi charges to the airport are double if the hotel gets you one of their cabs. too noisy outside. Opposite the hotel the construction works are conducted. Please be careful. All executive rooms face the construction. The classic room has small bathroom, we wanted to change the room, so we saw some classic rooms. Those we saw faced the inner yard, but there was some technical noise, we supposed -from the swimming-pool. We lived in executive room, nicely decorated, the bathroom is spacious, but the noise from the construction works was heard definitely. breakfast was cold and boring. beautiful bar, but served without as much as A coaster or nibble, and definitly no smile from staff. also tv with sport blasting in the lovely bar. Cooked breakfast was too cold too eat and milk for cereal was warm. Disappointing!. The hotel staff have a thing or two to learn about what good service looks like at a luxury hotel. They tried to charge me $18 to wash a pair of gym shorts on the basis that they classified them as 'trousers', one of the most expensive items on the laundry menu. It took a 20-minute discussion with staff for them to agree to lower the charge to something more reasonable. It was the single worst service experience I've had in 10+ years of traveling. the room, in spite of having a junior suit, it was located near the kitchen on the second floor and the food cooking smell made our stay very uncomfortable, specially near the suit entrance. the AC was only available in the sitting area and no AC outlet was available in the sleeping quarters. Cold food at breakfast. I didn't find a quite room. Right now next to this hotel are heavy constructions going on for 24h so it is quite noisy and dirty! The breakfast is quite poor and the food looks not very fresh! In gerneral this hotel hast still a soviet touch. Expensive Breakfast was poor Staff were unfriendly. The staff !!. The staff. Old. Uncomfortable. Poor beds. Bad pillows. Nothing luxury bar the price. Noisy room. Feel ripped off.
