This hostel is conveniently located in the centre of Gdańsk's Old Town, just 20 metres from the Motława River bank, and offers free wireless internet access in its communal areas and comfortable rooms for those on a budget. Each of Hostel Zappio's rooms is basic yet cosy and offers wonderful views to the old town and dockyards. Bed linens and towels are included. There are ironing facilities, a washing machine and hairdryers for guest use. In the morning, a breakfast buffet is available. Guests can socialize with other guests in Hostel Zappio's garden and pub.

The hostel has a great location in the old town. The breakfast was better than it usually is in hostels, they even served scrambled eggs and sausages (that I didn't eat). The staff is really helpful. Also, there seemed to be something wrong with both the light and the toilet door in the bathroom, and they fixed it while we were there. Nice cleaning. The hostel is perfectly located blocks away from the old town. Parking was super easy to find, even for a friday night. We got a warm welcome by the stuff and the room (we rented one of the apartment) was big and clean. Nothing exceptional but more than okay for a few days stay.
all reviews » The Hostel is located a short walk from the old town and the riverside. The apartment had a well equipped kitchenette and was very clean. The stairs are not that bad, The Free! WiFi was good, there is a second access point on the higher floors, so no problems getting connected. I loved the old building. Excellent location. Staff was very kind and helpful. Shared bathrooms that were busy a lot in the morning and afternoon, also small sinks that made it impossible to wash your face without splashing water all over the floor. Having two separate sheets on a twin bed is always a bugger for me. The continental-style breakfast is okayish. If you choose this hostel and your room is at the higher floors you have to bear in mind that there is no lift and the stairs are steep and windy, which could be a problem for who is not fit and has to carry heavy luggage upstairs. Because of old building, there is a high audibility. 5th floor, only stairs. no elevator so you have to climb high stairs; the breakfast was poor and during the week every day the same. Breakfast could have a little bit more variety. High stairs up to 5th floor, paperthin ceilings + noisy, drunk, english "tourists" running and jumping all night. We had a pretty unpleasant stay here, but it was due to sharing with some very rude backpackers, which wasn't the hostel's fault. It was in general quite a loud hostel though so bring earplugs!. No proper curtains so light in the morning. Bizarrely high toilet (minor quibble). Lack of soundproof.Curtains too short in our room. No elevator, no curtains, no TV, no hair dryer, no iron, in both rooms windows and doors were hard to open and close, very cold, very thin and cheap duvets and blankets. sharing bathroom. one toilet on each floor.
