The Location Is great! and the hotel has an Elavator, it's clean and the breakfast was descent. good value for the money. Shower facilities and Toilett in my room were new and in perfect condition. it's so close to the center of the city. The location was perfect, just off a very busy square but along a very quiet canal, excellent view. Staff were friendly and extremely accomodating, our flight landed after their reception had closed but they happily stayed later to check us in. The room was basic but comfortable, exactly what was needed after a long day. Bathroom facilties were very clean and looked new. A very pleasant experience. all reviews »
Great Location, very central, easy access to Trams 1,2 and 5. The Hotel was right at the heart of Amsterdam. good for the price, nothing special. Hotel reception closed at 11 p.m. every night and made it challenging for late arrivals or to renew internet service late at night. Uneven twin beds pushed together to make a "queen sized" bed. Hotel did not provide umbrella service or laundrey service even though signs on the back of the hotel room door claimed that they did. window view, "Bedengracht" - there were two mattresses on slippery surface what made wide Bedengracht ;) easy to fall during sleep.nothing would stay again. There was a very bad smell on the ground floor, and I think the hotel has the smallest elevator in Amsterdam.the corridor was very smelly. breakfast hours restictive,. La vue des chambres n'est pas terrible et certaines chambres sont trés étroites (juste la place pour le lit , le bureau et l'armoire). The hotel had a sulphuric smell to it, especially when in the bathroom.maybe there should be more central heating/heat/or air condition in the room. it was a bit cold!. Each morning the room service woke me up at least five times(!), which was very annoying! The keys for the hotel room and entrance looked like they were made in stone age and are easily to be faked.surcharge of 6% for credit-card payment, which we did not know in advance. price. renovations behind the hotel and we were in a rear facing room. lucky we were only there for the weekend. also the stairs were not good. if the lift was broken there is no way you could get luggage up as the stairs were incredibly steep and narrow which we found out whilst waiting half an hour for the lift to close its doors. Rooms are very small.The bed. Small everything! The room, bathroom, lift... The lift was smelly. You have to pay 3 Euros for each luggage that you want to deposit with them.There was a rather unpleasant smell as you entered the front door. there was not a nice smell on entering the hotelnot sure what was causing it but is was not nice at all it was central but very basic. position. Key deposit...room facilities. How small the breakfast room was and we needed more crockery etc Didn't really cater for a group having to leave at 9am. Also no room to store suitcases for later pick up.Very cramped. drug smell full in room. Rooms were not very clean and there may have been bugs in the bed. I did not like having to change rooms 3 times, I did not like the sewer smell throught the whole hotel, I did not like the construction outside my bedroom window, I thought the breakfast could be vastly improved, and I thought they could have done more for me for the inconveinance of having to move rooms 3 times, other than giving me 1 free hour of Internet use. I would avoid this hotel at all cos. May have had buugs in bed.

King Hotel is easily accessible from central station via Tram 1-2-5 (Stop Leidseplein). From Schiphol Amsterdam airport with KLM city bus (stop Marriott hotel) or with the Connexxion shuttle bus. Both the stops are only 50 meters away from the hotel and departs approximately every 25 minutes. Hotel is also easily accessible by car as well.
Arriving by car:
- Drive along the A4 highway (E10).
- Take exit Zaanstad, then exit Osdorp (S-106).
- Turn right and follow road, passing Surinameplein. At this roundabout, keep going straight on.
- Turn to the left and cross the Kostverlorenvaart Bridge. Turn left on Overtoom. At the end of the Overtoom, turn left into the Stadthouderskade.
- Cross the 1st bridge on the right and then the 2nd street Marnixstraat onto the Leidsekade. The hotel is on your left.
