The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room we had was simple but very clean and nice. The shower and toliet was always clean and tidy. Overal we enjoyed our time in the hotel and would stay again. A main factor of the trip, right in the center of it all, wicked little room, hpw i miss it......Great location in Amsterdam, very clean, and an ample breakfast provided in the morning.

The hotel was quite noisy during the day if you were trying to get your head down.2 beds pushed 2gether even though i requested a double bed. very very noisy. On Friday and Saturday night there was a live band in the attached pub which played until 2 or 3 am. This wasn't personally an issue as we were not trying to sleep during these hours, but it would be prohibitivly loud for some people. It is for this reason only I would not recommend this otherwise nice hotel. I didn't really like the location. It didn't matter much during day time, but it is a fact that you should be aware of if you book a room there. My friend and I wanted to go out monday night, but decided we'd better not, since we're 2 girls, and didn't feel too good walking around a street filled with coffee and sex shops in the middle of the night.The rooms are quite small, but this is usual for Amsterdam hotels. on group in the party was on the ground floor and they said that the noise of people coming in and out of reception to the rooms and the door buzzer was a bit off putting but part from that every thing was fine. Beds Could have been better! But Ok. I guess Amsterdam is just not a cheap city.Location can be scary at night for the little ones. The beds are pretty old, but decent. beds were like army beds, you could feel the bars/springs through mattress. We did ask to change rooms this time, as the one we were given was tiny, with twin beds foot to foot, instead of side by side, and there was a noisy generator right outside the window, but our request was granted immediately, without any problem, and we were given a much nicer, larger, quieter room! Thank you!. A bit too close to nightlife though. Can get noisy. Recommend when replying to confirmation email, to request room on the canal side if possible. Also not all rooms have wi-fi reception.The shower was lacking. the location excellent.. near the centraal station :). the toilet of the bar was a bit minging. room was a little sparse but ok for short stray. steep staircase.
