We initially reserved for one night but decided to stay for a second. The hotel had no more rooms available, but offered us an apartment for a great price. The apartment was wonderful and had a beautiful view. We did not spend alot of time in the Hotel - but is is ideally located - very central to everything - Rooms were of 1 or 2 star quality, but an ideal budget hotel - did not really expect more for the price.Incredible location!! Especially for early to mid 20's. Not the fanciest but why would you spend time in your hotel when you're in Amsterdam anyways... The hotel is in the center of everything. Like the reviews said, they have steep stairs and no lift. At no point was this any problem and would saty there again. Our window was facing the backyard of a restaurant which resulted in quite a lot of noise when they were emptying the trash and sorting bottles in the middle of the night. We were ok with it, but I think some people would mind. no elevator, room was in second floor. no problem for us, but you need to know. also we thought, there would be free parking - but there is no free parking. we used park+ride - works great, but we had to wait 1 hour to get in (full garage). the advertised free wireless.... did not work in our room and even when we went downstairs to log in at the modem it cut out every 10min or so. probelms with wi fi connection (not in my room). it was a little run down but that adds to the charm. Our first night, the room had two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed. This was not very comfortable. The bed also did not have sheets with an elastic to cover the entire mattress, so throughout the night the sheets would slip off certain ends and expose the bare mattress. The second night, when we stayed in an apartment, the bathroom light was not working and the faucet was broken.It is located near the clubs so the music at night was loud and there were people talking pretty loudly outside, if you can't sleep through some noise it's not a good hotel for you. daily cleaning of the room can be improved. The room I stayed in was definitely not luxurious. However, as a student, it was kind of like sleeping in a dorm room for the weekend. Although the accommodations were not the nicest, the room was clean and so was the bathroom. Our room reservation was changed without us knowing. When we arrived our triple room had been changed to a double meaning that the night porter had to give up his bed for it to be moved into our room. Absence of restaurant. pity that no breakfast was available. to wide stairs;) and renovate the rooms. they did not check availability of soap in the bathroom. The first day the cover was dirty, there is no elevator and stairs are very narrow... Rooms not cleaned no clean towels etc...the hotel on entrance was nice an clean thought the room had the most filthy carpet ive ever seen even worse than my old student house! it had many unusal stains on the floor thought the bathroom was spotless to be fair. The romm was terribly dirty! Dirty room with dirty smell, the carpet was badly stained, simply disgusting. The sheets were not clean, and the sheet cover was disgusting dirty too.housekeeping was very bad. rooms were not easily accesible. Unable to give us the room we booked. Room not available until 5pm.

Please note that there is no lift in the building. The stairs to the hotel entrance and in the building are steep and are not suitable for guests with limited mobility. All rooms are non-smoking If you arrive before 08:00 or after 22:00, please inform the hotel of your arrival time and flight number. This way the reception staff can be there to welcome you. Please note that the hotel will pre-authorise your credit card 7 days prior to arrival. Please note that guests are required to show the credit card that was used to make the booking, upon arrival. If guests can't bring the card, they should provide the accommodation with a copy of the credit card and an authorization from the credit card holder. Please note that an extra bed/children's bed is (see Policies) is only available on request and after confirmation from the property. On the day of arrival a 100 EUR security deposit will be pre-authorised on the card ( for phone calls, mini bar, etc). On the day of check-out, the security deposit will be released if there are no expenses to be covered. Apartments:
The apartments are located behind a 17th century main door just 50 meters from the hotel. You check in at Hotel Amstelzicht, where you will receive the keys of the apartment. Rental agreement has to be signed up on arrival. The apartments are 35 square meters and have a living room, bedroom including bed linen, a bathroom(shower/toilet) including towels and a open kitchen with fridge, microwave, cooking area complementary coffee and tea. In the living room are two single sofa beds, ore rollaway beds, which can be used for a 3th and 4th person. All apartments are modern and comfortably furnished and each of them has its own atmosphere. The exact set-up can variate between the apartments. The apartments are equipped with cable TV, telephone, seating area and safe deposit box.

The apartments are self catering, this means the apartments are clean on arrival and the beds in the bedroom have been made up. If you would like to use the sofa beds you have to make them by your self, linen will be provided. During your stay there is no daily cleaning service, only in the case you stay more than 6 nights, there is a weekly cleaning service.

By check out:
Beds: Sheets and towels have to be collected and to be placed in a provided laundry bag.
Kitchen: The dishes have to be clean and tidy, the microwave has to be clean, the fridge has to be empty and has to be on the 0 position.
Floor: The floor has to be cleaned with the broom.
Dustbin: The dustbin has to be emptied in a bag and to be placed next to the front door inside the apartment.

Travelling information

Directions:
-By Car:
Highway A10. Leave the highway A10 at the exit Nr. S116 and follow the signs “centrum”. At the Mr. Visser Square (app. 8 km) follow the signs for the Stopera parking garage. Go straight and after the “Blue Bridge” turn to the right. After 500 meters u will see Hotel Amstelzicht at your left. This is the easiest route to the hotel.

-By public transport:
From the airport u can take the train to Amsterdam Central Station. From there take tram 4 or 9 and get out at “Rembrandtplein”. Walk towards “Three Sisters Pub” and walk in the “Bakkerstraat”. At the end turn left, u will see the hotel after 100 meters.

-By taxi: From the airport u can take a taxi that will bring u straight to Hotel Amstelzicht.

-By Airport Shuttle Service:
Take the “connexion” shuttle bus from the airport and get out at Hotel Eden. From there walk along the canal in the direction of the “Muntplein” and at about 300 meters u will see the hotel at your left.
Please check the correct Shuttle bus because there are 2 different routes.
