The Hotel was perfect for us , away from the hustle-bustle and noise.Well connected to the city center by Tram No. 5. close to Rail Station South. Neat and clean. Above all the most Helpful Staff we have ever seen anywhere else, till we stayed in this hotel. My wife injured her ankle ( in the city) on the very first day of our stay. On return to the hotel we approached the staff for assistance of a doctor. The Manager on Duty Ms Denise Noij took complete control of the situation , contacted our.
all reviews » The hotel is at 3-5 minutes walk from Metro Station(Station Zuid) and Train Station(Amsterdam zuid), so you will get very fast to the Airport(10 min) and to the city center(20 min) The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The hotel is placed in a business zone, so it is very quiet and spacious . You have lots of places to have breakfast at the metro station, don't buy the hotel one that it is very expensive(23 euro/person). Also, at the hotel you have free coffe/tea maker in the room. Normally. Great hotel, big quiet rooms and beautiful design interior. In the old town you would have to pay triple to get the same quality. Amsterdam Zuid station is 2 min walkibg distance. From there you get very frequent tram, metro or train connections to all parts of Amsterdam. 15 min to old town by tram. Buy day pass for 7.50 snd you can use any means of transport and enjoy both the old town and this great and superclean hotel. The staff is nice, and the hotel is very close to all kinds of public transport. We did not like our short stay ( we should have planned to stay longer.). The hotel is around 15-20 minutes far from the city center, but easily reached by tram n. 5. Cleaning lady did not clean cot. Water only provided on first day! Coffee facilities not replenished until asked. No free wifi, very expensive. Breakfast was expensive and therefore we dined out. Bar price for a glass of Jameson is €5.50. The one truly strange, mean, frugal and what may constitute a limitation to civil rights and liberties is Crown Plaza's policy to make people pay for access to the internet. Even at simple bed and breakfast establishments in my homeland, Ireland, comes with free access to the internet. I cannot find anything negative to say about this hotel. breakfast is not bad but for eggs a supplement between 7.5 and 10 euro's is charged. Breakfast was very expensive. Charging for wifi however, wifi is free if you join the IHG club. The bed and pillows where a little to hard for our taste and the breakfast was not included (expensive). We also had to become a member in their club to get free wifi. Nothing, the hotel was perfect for what I needed. It's a bit far from the center and the car park is quite expensive. Didn't try breakfast as it was a bit pricy. - Wifi costs 10 euro / 24h. - Area is a bit deserted at night. It costs €10 per day for wifi! But nowadays most hotels can offer it with no charge!. Surrounding buildings was still under construction but once complete this should be an issue. I think it's ridiculous that you charge for Wifi. Most hotels in Europe (some more central and less expensive than Crowne) don't charge. Expensive breakfast Could do with a more powerful AC Bath shower not very powerful. Nothing. The suoermarket nearby was closed in weekend. No thing. Little bit out of town. All rooms are non-smoking:). 23 € extra for standard breakfast too expensive. The food counter for breakfast was not refilled and the servers seemed not bothered about customers seated for breakfast. Nothing. Staff is friendly but there is a very strict atmosphere about everything, e.g. early check of the mini bar etc. all was good. To little snack in the lounge. I like som small food, not just potato chips. Breakfast is not include, very expencive WiFi, far away from the center of Amsterdam. that when there was a function at the hotel non-function guests had to find somewhere else or eat at the bar... No Smoking at ALL No Facilitation of Room Cancellation which I had to cancel my flights for as I would have lost 800euros. The names of the person who made reservation and that of the guest were mixed up. (In the booking confirmation the guest name is clearly mentioned) The invoice was also made to the person who made the reservation, not to the guest and this could not be corrected. The reservation department is apparently not used to the booking made via letsbookhotel.com. The first morning there was no hot water, had to take a cold shower and I really hate that. It's almost impossible to call with a mobile phone there and parking is 48 euro per day.
