We stayed two weeks in Marocco traveling from city to city! But!! Dar Bensouda was by far the best! We had hotels which costed a lot (!) more money and Werent so excellent like this one! Fantastic rooms! Super clean! The best Moraccane breakfast! Said the manager did everything for us to feel well! You can talk to him at any time. His English is very good and he so nice! Really, in this old Imam riad you feel like a king! It's a bit hidden in the medina but after one day it was no problem to fi.
all reviews » The hotel is so spectacular it is difficult to describe. Directly in the Medina (Old City, the oldest Medina in Morocco). It is a former residence of an Imam from the 17th century and could be described as a palace. A rooftop terrace, inner courtyards and gardens, and even a swimming pool in one of the courtyards. The manager, Said, speaks several languages and was extraordinarily helpful, even having one of the staff wash our clothes (we were traveling via motorcycle through Morocco). We were . If you are looking for a total Moroccan experience you should make sure Dar Bensouda is included,no need to repeat all the other reviews,it's a wonderful experience . We found our way back to the Riad without too much difficulty Study each corner you take leaving the Riad and it's great to arrive back without help, a tip, for the first time venturing out, turn left as you exit the front door,that's the easy one!study each corner you take to arrive at the bustling market place.you are in the mo. My fault. I had not read his e-mail. But now you know- call first & Said will have your luggage delivered to your room. Narrow, dirty streets everywhere. Absolutely no bad points about the riad!. The breakfast was a bit disappointing compared with other riads, where we paid a lot less. While it was beautifully presented, it would have been nice to be served tea (not just coffee), eggs/omelette and fruit salad, rather than bread based options only. We hated being hassled and hated the awful comments from the men.. Not for the faint hearted if you are women alone !! But doable !. The location was in the middle of the medina and not on google maps. It's impossible to find it by yourself so you are dependant on a guide or someone from the medina. The place is difficult to find without a guide. Please call the mgr to arrange a pickup from the nearest Bab. It is a little complicate to find the place at first time, but people from the hotel provide everything to help you to find yourself in Fes. It is a bit difficult to find the riad as it is inside the medina.but if u follow the instructions, u reach the place with effort.it is easier to catch hold of a kid at the square(cinema Amal)and ask them to guide u thru.give him 10 Dirhms as tip.
