What people say
The location of this small family run hotel was perfect, close to absolutely everything (we recommend to get off at the Rialto water bus stop, it's very close to here, rather than San Marco). The staff were lovely, and were more than happy to give great local dinner recommendations and tips on where to go and what to see in Venice.
Breakfast was prepared by the grandmother, and included sandwiches, croissants, yoghurt, dry biscuits and some sweets as well as coffee, tea and juices. Although no. all reviews »
When you travel alone and came for city visit ( culture, museums, history and etc) - you are looking for Location, Security, Budget and Friendly Staff. All this I found in hotel Serinissima. Family owned - it is Family style in all. Room and Bath are small, but all clean and correspond with the Price. Breakfast is Family-made and served in nice breakfast room. Variety is - Fruits, Yogurts ( plein and fruits), 3 types of small sandviches, tomatos, tea and coffee - this is 100% enough for h.
Amazing location, 5 minutes' walk from St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. Very friendly and helpful staff and the bar is always open (and cheap) if you get back and want a late night/early morning drink. Some reviews say the rooms are small, but if all you want to do is wash, sleep (and other activities on the bed) it's not a problem. There is plenty of space to put things and walk around the bed. Lots of stairs if your room is at the top, like ours, but that's only a problem if you're bot.
Outstanding location within a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's, with plenty of places to eat nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Airconditioning was excellent (and the low setting was great for ventillation during the night, as I had to leave my window closed to keep the mosquitoes out). Sleepy the dog was a bonus (and since Sleepy was sleeping almost every time I saw him, he never caused a nuisance). Single room was small but comfortable and had everything I needed.
It was a very efficient but friendly welcome. Gave maps for places for me to go and find my way home. Very quaint bedroom and furniture, comfy bed, nice and quiet. I was on the 6th floor. Lovely breakfast room and traditional Italian breakfast. Lovely clean bathroom with perfumed towels, hairdryer. You will need shower gel as? Only a Sachet to get you going. Loved the quaint area the Hotel was in which was pretty close to the Water taxi. Enjoyed my stay there.
The hotel is in an excellent location close to San Marco and Rialto. It's on a quiet street but still surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was a good size, bright, comfortable and clean. The reception desk is open 24 hours and you can leave your luggage there. Good wifi signal in the room. The staff we very helpful over email prior to arrival and their english is amazing. Good value for money.
Staff was very friendly, pleasant and helpful
Location was perfect, between Rialto and San Marco water bus stations, (can take Alilaguna from airport and walk to hotel within 10 min), easy to walk to any sites and nice shopping areas
Breakfast (sandwiches, cheese, jam, crackers, boiled eggs, apples, yogurt, juice, coffee) perfect to start off the day
Very family type, b & b type atmosphere (not large scale hotel).
The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. Michael saved us so much time by helping us on how to navigate on what water bus to take to the cruise ship. The continental breakfast was great each day. European rooms are always small but it was comfortable. Very thankful porter was there to carry our bags up to 3rd floor (71 steps) as my husband has a bad back and there is no elevator. Location amazing!.
This is a quaint and very typical Venice hotel, run by a family. It is homely and welcoming with an art collection to die for! Location was perfect, we found it easily due to the hotel's excellent instructions and map. We had a nice small reception area outside our room which helped reduce the cramped feeling inside the room. Interesting breakfast each morning.
Location is fantastic!!! Very easy to walk to from the water taxi port. Staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The grandma cooks you breakfast every morning, she is just a sweetie!! And sammi the dog is so cute!! Our room was nice, not big and quite dated but our bed was very comfortable. We were there to explore so were very happy with our room.
Everyone at the hotel was great. They also accommodated us the last day
in Venice and held our bags at the front desk so we could go and do our
last minute sightseeing. This hotel has a great location, is less then 5
min walk to the water and all sights including San Marco square. Perfect
hotel, great location and breakfast. I highly recommend.
Everything! The hotel is just perfect, I really don't know why it's only 2 stars, I would give 4. It's small but very comfortable, with perfect Venezian design, situated in 5 minutes walking from piazza San Marco, very nice staff, very clean, many towels, good breakfasts. Everything's excellent! It Venice again, than only Serenissima!.
The reception people were all helpful and speaking good french. At the
breakfast was really good and fresh :). when you for breakfast . you
will be served by a very nice old lady. I found it very remarkable that
she can still work. The room and hotel were nicely decorated. The
location is fantastic.
Half-way between Piazza San Marco and Rialto bridge -step out the door and you are in the heart of Venice. Staff was very helpful and even anticipated our needs. Room was neat and clean. Helpful on-line instructions for getting to and from the hotel (print them out and take them with you).
Perfectly placed within 5 minutes of St Marks square and all the main sights, the hotel is a great budget stay. The rooms are small and there's no lift, but it is 2 star and you get what you pay for. Bathrooms are a good size, the staff great and the place has a nice feel.
Highly recommend.
Our flight was delayed we arrived late at night. Check in was effortless and our baggage whipped up to our room within seconds of our arrival. Very friendly knowledge staff, fantastic location. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel and would certainly stay here again.
The position was excellent, you couldn't wish for a better setting. The room had everything you needed (except a view of a canal) strong lighting, hairdryer, shutters which cut out the light, WiFi, hot water, clean towels and bedding. I was impressed with this 2 star hotel.
The hotel is very conveniently located, just between San Marco Square
and Rialto, close to all major places of interest. The staff was
friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was not very rich, but quite tasty.
There was free and fast Wireless Internet in the room.
Very central ( 5 min to Rialto and San Marco); very good Italian
breakfast (waiter knew after the first breakfast if I wanted coffee or
tea and served it immediately after entering the breakfast room);
friendly and helpful staff, all in all I had a great time.
Loved the Hotel Serinissima. All the staff were very helpful and the hotel had a nice friendly family feel about it. Room was very small but that's Venice. The hotel is well located very close to Piazza San Marco and lots of shops and restaurants close by.
An ideal location. Excellent and varied breakfast and very comfortable bed. It's a hotel without a lift and when I arrived the two young chaps on reception took one look at me (I am 80) and moved me down from the 4th to the 2nd floor and carried my case up.
Besides the wonderful location, very friendly staff and a nice breakfast it's really a great value for money - it's one of the cheapest hotels in the center of Venice - and you really get times more than you pay - very cosy, clean and comfortable rooms.
Hotel has this rustic feeling, which is obviously the case since it's run by a very sweet old lady and her extremely welcoming Labrador. The breakfast and location is fantastic, exactly in the middle of Rialto Bridge and San Marco.
Beautiful little hotel in an amazing location. The breakfast was to die for and the service was impeccable. Not a luxury hotel but very comfortable and a great place to base yourself for 1 or 2 nights while exploring Venice.
Everything! Location very central, staff very friendly, hotel & room very clean, breakfast was also very good especially the croissants which the sweet old lady used to freshly prepare every morning. Highly recommended!.
The location is simply perfect! It took literally 2 minutes to get both to San Marco piazza and Rialto bridge.
Personnel was very helpful and positive.
This is authentic experience as the hotel is in the very old building.
Really nice welcoming hotel. Simple but stylish and comfortable. Excellent location in the heart of Venice close to great restaurants and beautiful shops. If you like small boutique hotels you will love this place.
Apart from the amazing position of the lovely hotel between the St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge in the heart of Venice, it also ticks all the boxes as a very good and well-priced hotel. We loved our stay.
Decoration of the rooms is amazing, the stuff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel has a perfect location. It is located between Rialto and San Marco which are the most important points of the city.
Staff very friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions off the tourist route.
Lovely hotel, central location, 24hr access, nice clean room/bathroom - enough space!
Nothing not to like about this hotel!.
The location and helpful staff can't be beat, and the breakfast was
generous. I loved having the International Herald Tribune with my
coffee. The room was also very quiet, and the wifi never failed.
This little hotel was full of charm and character. The staff were
helpful and spoke English. The breakfast was good. I would stay here
again in a heartbeat, so much nicer than big chain hotels.
The location is exellent for getting around Venice and you could not ask for a more attentive staff. The breakfasr they serve is also wonderful and always fresh. I will use this hotel again.
In the heart of Venice, very short walking distance to all sites. Staff great and take the time to explain and help with directions and will provide excellent restaurant recommendations.
Position great. Staff friendly chatty and professional. Good breakfast lots of choice. Good size room for venice. Staff took bags up. Good air conditioning. Would recommend.
Very kind staff. The rooms are confortable and clean. The localization is excelent, near at San Marco square. The breakfast is pretty good, with many options and well served.
The staff was lovely, and the breakfasts were wonderful. The location to Rialto and San Marco made it an ideal location. The room was very small, but cozy and a good price.
The service was outstanding! The location was perfect! I was very
impressed by the services and friendliness. Will definitely recommend
this hotel to others. Thank you!.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and they had a lovely golden retriever at the hotel! The location was fantastic for St Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge.
Perfect location for tourists. Breakfast was very nice. The room was
spotless. The staff are kind and polite. There are nice restaurants and
shops.Highly recomended.
The staff are very helpful & friendly, the location just perfect in the heart of Venice, the breakfast food is amazing and I love hotel interior really cozy.
Very central, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was absolutely decent. Book well ahead in time for a reasonable price and this is a definite recommendation!.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location close to all main attractions. The rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate.
Friendliness and helpfullness of staff.
Simple, more than enough food at breakfast.
Close to so many sites, availabilitey of transportation.. Very homey.
Location was just the best. 5 minute walk to Rialto bridge or St. Marco sq. Nice, friendly staff. Help from Ryan with my bags up 4 flights of stairs.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Location was easy to find given the directions from the hotel. Close to the waterbus stop and San Marco square.
Great location, good value for money, nice breakfast (lots of sweet stuff, but also plain yogurt, fruit, good coffee...), quiet, clean, Italian.
Great location, helpful and friendly staff, very good breakfast, Wi-Fi was OK... Charming place in the heart of Venice. I hihgly recommend it!.
Location fantastic - not far from San Marco and very close to Rialto where there are some excellent restaurants and cafes along the canal.
Fast WiFi, good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast. You can easily reach San Marco Square and Rialto bridge. Beautifully decorated.
The room was very small (even smaller than expected) and outdated although clean. In a way though, it adds to the feel of being in such an old city.
I didn't find anything or anyone that I didn't like there and I have reasonable nigh standards.
Breakfast was limited to bread, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, juice and tea/coffee. It would have been nice to have some cereal as an option.
The walls are quite thin, it didn't annoy us but if you are a light sleeper it might bother you.
The hotel website suggests getting the boat from the airport to San Marco stop. This takes 90 mins. It is better to go on the red line to Rialto. This takes 60 minutes and you get a ride down the grande canal.
As noted previously, smaller hotel with personal touch; these were not problems for us, but keep in mind: smaller but adequate bathroom, no plugs in room( can use bathroom plug to charge phone), beds two singles put together, no elevator (bags brought up by staff), noise (chatting, singing, ?serenading) outside room.
Next time would indicate husband has a bad back and to request first floor room.
Room was small and bathroom very small, some gymnastic ability required each time to get in and close the door at the same time, but we loved Venice and these things didn't spoil our stay at all.
The bath/shower was very hard to use! There was no shower head so we had to sit in the bath and use the hose!! Very weird and not the easiest way to shower!! The breakfast is only cold food, fruits, croissants, yoghurts. No toast or eggs etc.
None.
My room was at the 4th floor and thete was no elevator. Going up seemed
to be like climbing a mountain. But Dont worry There isca porter to take
your bag up/down. The room is very small but since I was alone I
didn't mind that too.
It was a bit noisy - from the crowds on the street (which was expected) and from adjacent rooms (the walls seemed surprisingly "thin').
Wi-fi was a bit average on the top level, but worked everywhere else.
Breakfast was limited.
The room was relatively small, but that caused little discomfort.
A bit of nose from surrounding streets at night but if you are going to be located in the midst of restaurants etc you have to expect that.
The thermostat controlling the heating did not seem to work - or perhaps I was just doing something wrong. Not a major problem and I never asked if something could be done.
The rather small TV. But no issues since you'll be out 90% of the time.
The only thing which we did not like, which was minor, was that the room had a strong smell of humidity (not sure if it was humidity or the oil used to paint the furnishings) when we opened the door - but it did not affect us greatly as we opened the windows.
The breakfast might be more variable, but that's a tiny issue.
You have to get used to the smell in the room once you enter it - another side of authentic place ;).
Nothing.
It's great that small European hotels often have single rooms at an
excellent price, but my room was quite tiny compared to others I stayed
in on this trip. There was only one small window that looked out on a
wall and tiny alley.
The pillows were very skimpy.
There is no elevator so be aware if you have a heavy bag. That said this visit there was a bellboy available and that helped tremendously.
The hotel doesn't have a lift. I stayed in the last floor (4th) and it was a little bit painfull to go upstairs two times a day every day. The bathroom is awful. I had to pray to have some water from the shower. I could not even have a bath in fact. The Wi-Fi doesn't work. Forget about it.
I literally have no complaints. :).
The room was clean but small and the bed was very uncomfortable.
No shower curtain. We sat in the tub to take shower. Still made floor
wet.As a result my husband slipped and fell. He hit the door hard and
the door knob damaged the wall. We are so sorry for the hotel.
Minor issues (washing basin tap dripping slightly, little unpleasant smell from the backyard via the bathroom window).
The rooms at the front can be a bit noisy. If you have mobility issues there are a lot of stairs. A bar fridge and tea/coffee facilities would have been nice.
Super small room. Mosquitos at night in room.
No lifts, rooms slightly small.
Nothing, really.
Very small room with no tea and coffee bags, no water boiler and no power socket in the room.
Beds are on wheels, cannot control air conditioning. No fridge in room.
