We loved il Gattopardo! It was in the perfect location for seeing the historical city. The B&B was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the decor was great with wonderful charm. They gave us directions and advice on where to go and where to eat. Another bonus is that it was around the corner from italysegwaytours.com which was an awesome way to see the city without the stress and strain of finding your way around. We loved everything about Florence from the B&B the Segway .
all reviews » Excellent location in the heart of Florence. Everything was within a short walking distance. Great well stocked kitchen so we were able to make a few of our own meals as well as keep snacks in the refrigerator. Shared bath was very large and kept clean. This is the best location! You can walk to everything, and yet it's a quiet street. You will be staying in Dante's neighborhood! The host is honest and very knowledgeable and helpful. I would book this place again. 1) It is easy to find, located next to the Duomo. 2) It looks like an authentic apartment requisite infrastructure for a hotel. 3) The friendly staff gave valuable advice on the sights and trattorias. I had a wonderfull time. The lady of the b&b is really kind. Rooms are clean. Perfect location. Next time i viset florence I will defenetly come back to this b&b. Excellent! Very noisy at night, especially on the weekend or warm evenings. Bring earplugs! 10am check out is a bit on the early side. As well, we were asked to change rooms for our last night to accommodate other arrivals although it appeared that they only stayed one night so not sure why it was necessary. It was a bit of a nuisance to have to pack up to move rooms. This place was a great price, but don't come expecting a breakfast, which is very typical. Instead you have many choices of cozy cafes to buy a cappucino and croissant for a few euros. It is rather a comment than a minus... 1) You can walk in circles for a long time, because easy to get lost in the narrow streets of Florence. 2) Feature of the city (the high walls of houses and narrow streets) and hotel rooms - it was quite dark. No wifi signal in the room, only in the living room. It was a little hard to find. Wifi does not apply to the rooms only to the common living room. no wifi and mobile connection in the room. Youth partying and screaming in street at night. Perhaps summer holiday had just begun. The room was small, the bed was very low to the ground and really squeeky. There was just a fan, no a/c.
