The hotel staff were very pleasant from check in to bar attendance to restaurant. When we checked in to our room it was cold because window had been left open and heating had gone off. The receptionist arranged for a heater to be plugged in and by time we were going to bed our room was lovely and cosy. The rooms were exceptionally nice - bright spacious and nicely decorated. There were lots of areas within the hotel to sit and relax and have a chat. The overall decor throughout the hotel was lo.
all reviews » From the moment we arrived we got the most professional and friendly service from everyone we met from reception to bar staff to dinigroom staff. It set the scene for us. Everything else matched the attitude of the staff. It will be our Limerick destination of choice in future and so easily accessed from the Motorway whichever direction you are coming from. Hotel is very spacious and has a beautiful outside area, generously laid-out. Relaxing atmosphere. The pool looked fantastic too, shame I had no time to try it. I liked that the rooms were clean, the people were friendly, there was a piano in the foyer and to my amazement I heard a young talented girl play while I read the paper. I loved the breakfast area its very well managed and lots of choice. We were at a dancing comp in UL so location was perfect, staff were very friendly at the bar and helpful at the reception. I would def stay here again. Rooms were spacious & clean. Top notch breakfast, staff genuinely caring, our not refurbished room was a bit dated but very comfy and quiet. Dinner in the bar was very good and recommendable. Parking for free. Very close to the university, nice grounds. Always found parking by the entrance, which was great for us because we had a stroller. We were in Limerick for the hurling féile so the hotel was very central, staff were very friendly and food was great. New docor is fabulous. Great staff and service. I think there is something missing from the bar it hasn't got a warm atmosphere, too big maybe not sure! I didn't like the fact I asked for a spacious room on the net with just a double bed and I got a single in it too. I asked for smoking and it was non smoking but too late to move everything out. There was shampoo but no conditioner. The hairdryers are way out dated and take too long to dry my hair. The fact there is no complimentary spin for couples into the city. There was no air con, no fans to hire & the fridge in room was not working, it was the hottest day of the year & impossible to sleep in the heat but staff were apologetic & so kind & hotel was lovely so I would still stay again. Old school room. Several things needed updating, but according to the signs up around the hotel, they are under new management and are looking to do some renovations. The fridge in our room didn't work, and would have been too much of a hassle for us to change rooms. We got a package deal with breakfast, but if we paid for it separately, I think 12 Euro is overpriced. breakfast was not good. Expensive and poor quality breakfast. decor a little dated, could do with recarpeting the upstairs. Could not room charge on a visa debit. Was not aware that you need a creditcard to room charge. I always use my visa debit and alwats room charge. The lifts were a bit old and dated but the hotel is under refurbishment so I'd imagine these will be updated. Ice Buckets / no ice stations - but bar provided it. My bottle of Rose wine disappeared between dinner on Sat.& Wed.when the dining room opened again. One night & the following morning we had no hot water but it was summer & these accidents happen. The waitress did bring me a glass of wine on Wed.night. There was a manager? Prowling around the foyer also bathroom needed to be redecorated. When I arrived to book in I was informed that there was no booking made by booking . com on by behalf even though I had written confirmation with me. I was extremely disappointed as there may not have been accommodation in the hotel that night. This has created a doubt in my mind about further bookings . Hard to find, not well signposted. Took us half hour to find once we got to Limerick. Ongoing renovations at the hotel that we were not aware of until we got there, however not a big issue. Simple décor but nice. fan goin in bathroom all night. Lack of air conditioning (during an exceptionally hot spell) made the room very uncomfortable. My wife found the lift sticking on the 1st floor frightening and in the using the stairs the odour from the swiming pool was unpleasant. No top sheet on bed - there was another place that did this, probably normal in Ireland, just not used to it. Hotel is tired a few years old and has signs that it is a few years old, The price is right and therefore I would stay there again. I stayed in another 4 star hotel in Limerick the night after and this had a extra touch of class about it. hotel is shabby and needs to be given a makeover, painted, new carpets etc. No mini bar in room and room very oldfashioned. Room felt like I tripped into the 70s some things need updated After waiting about 15 min for breakfast both our meals where wrong.
