We travelled to Ennis for the Fleadh Nua music festival on a budget and found the hostel to be just what we wanted. We took a family room with en-suite shower room for a week. Clean, comfortable, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The cooking facilities were well laid out and kept scrupulously clean despite the number of people passing through. The hostel is situated just on the edge of the town centre so close to everything you want to see and close to music sessions but still quiet e.
all reviews » The room was very decent, the common areas were warm and friendly and the kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. Breakfasts were fairly plain (cereal and milk, toast, butter, jam, tea/coffee, orange juice and scones were offered) but plentiful and completely sufficient for our needs. The internet connection was excellent on the ground floor. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, and the location very scenic. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone on a budget and looking for a pleas. So much better than I expected. I only got it because of the price but the staff was amazing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Plus there's a really cute girl that works there. But don't say anything because her dad works there too. Everything was spotless and when you look outside, right across the way is an 11th century Abby. The town is a two minute walk from there. Oh, plus they border a beautiful river with river otters that show up each night. I came for one day and ended up staying thre. The American girl behind reception upon check-in was exceptionally nice and the owner? With glasses on check-out was also very friendly and was eager to know if we had a good time in Ennis and recommended a good place for breakfast! Our room was very big, cozy and had a view of the river!!! The towels were also an added bonus in the twin room! The room with the book exchange was particularly inviting. My friend and I loved the nice touch of 10% off in the restaurant ajoining as it was a miserab. A brilliant hostel, clean tidy excellent fully equipped kitchens with large fridges/freezers for own food. Tv room, and free computer/internet usage. Lovely dining room, we paid 24.50 for double room incl toast and ceral orange tea coffee for breakfast bargain! Travelled with my 7 year old son, it is lovely for him to experience hostel life instead of hotels. The location is excellent right in the heart of Ennis, and the restaurant attached to the hostel is excellent, food is delicious and cate. The friendly welcome when we arrived. The cleanliness.The fact there was a lift to the upper floors. The kitchen and availability of everything we needed to preapre breakfast, or make a cup of tea. The hot showers. The choice of single and double and family rooms ensuite. The lovely cafe attached with good food at reasonable prices. Very good and helpfull staff. Wifi and pc with internet for free. The breakfast was good enough. I could only recomend this accomodation not only for young traveleres :). The friendliness and relaxed atmosphere. Ennis is a lovely town, I lived there for 4 years. A very good cafe. The rooms weren't very soundproof, so we would hear all kinds of clanging and noises coming from the corridor and outside in the evening. They didn't last very long though and didn't really bother us. A little cold in the room until the heating came on at 6pm, but for the price, not a big complaint!. Some of the rooms were cold, but the heat came on earlier on our second day. the breakfast was a bit minimal. Clanging doors were very noisy. Beds were too hard for me -- maybe others would appreciate them. After breakfast, guests are asked to wash their dishes and silverware. Many people do a good job, but some simply rinse them. This might explain why many of the young people here had colds. Investing in a dishwasher and having guests stack their used dishes in dishwasher racks rather than unsanitary rinsing would make the health department and future guests happy. No WiFi in enquire rooms. The rooms were to warm and stuffy at night. the beds were a bit uncomfortable... A fine if you drink in your room that's very extreme. nothing. Room was a bit cold, I visited in November so required more heating in the room. The beds were awful Rock hard mattresses Uncomfortable pillows Terrible linen and duvets made from polyester or similar VERY VERY Noisey!!. Single traveller here. It was described as a double room. Was put in a room on my own with two sets of bunk beds and one double bed that I couldn't sleep in..iron springs and it was noisy..The price was outrageous. I paid €138 for two nights while I spent €38 a night in a proper hotel in Limerick. The cold - the heating only came on at 7.30 in the evening and then it didn't get very warm. The furniture -and there was little of it- wasn't dusted. I would have liked a desk and chair. There was no WiFi in the bedroom.
