The Hotel and room were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view of the river and garden at the back of the hotel is stunning to look out on and if the weather was right prefect to sit out on the decked area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi connection available in the bedrooms. A pretty location with a friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much bother. Rooms cleaned each day with fresh towels for the bathroom. Breakfast was served with a good selection. Location well sited for touring the whole of Clare and with easy access to Ennis centre.
all reviews » I loved the location right on the river, with the great deck to sit on and relax by the water. Also the view out of our window of the hills and countryside was a treat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and simple. I would recommend it to others. Advice given as over phone as we go lost. Within walking distance to eatery for evening meal. Room with doors opening onto lovely garden and stream . Hot powerful shower. Excellent breakfast menu cooked to order . Nothing to much trouble for the proprietor. The owners were polite and friendly. The room was cosy and spacious! Sheets and towels were really clean!! Breakfast was excellent! It has parking. I suspect the landlady was drunk on arrival, bad mannered and rude, insistent on being paid cash not card, argued about my booking, her "king" double was definitely not a king, barely even a double. House and room was freezing cold, no level of comfort, we needed to sleep with our jumpers on and finally the walls were paper thin and we were privvy to every conversation etc around us, deeply unpleasant experience. My advise: book somewhere else. The Hotel is quite a long way from the town centre, approximately 2 miles so a little far to walk in the evening, however there is the Auburn Lodge just 5 minutes walk away which serves very nice evening meals. This is a guesthouse not a hotel. However, a bar would have been a plus for that little drink before bedtime!. Directions could be more precise on the web site. In our room the shower screeched and our friends could hear it from their rooms!. No comments. Wi-Fi signal weak in downstairs rooms. OK in reception area. nothing. Nothing. Nothing. It's more like 30-40 minutes walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants of Ennis than the 15 minutes quoted in the description. About a 30 minute walk into Ennis so we usually drove or took a taxi. No Wi-Fi in the room, but in the rest of the lodge it was ok. Cant think. need to drive to get to Ennis. Nothing. the free wi-fi was only available in the hall, had no signal in room. Everything.
