What people say
This is a great place. The rooms are of a really high standard, clean and the beds are super comfy! Perfect location, close to train station and all amenities. No need for taxi’s to bars or restaurants. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and gave me some great advice for my time in Dundalk. Beautiful conservatory and front room where I was able to meet with friends. The breakfast is delicious! I couldn’t have asked for anything more on my stay – I would highly recommend Glen Gat Ho. all reviews »
I stayed in Glen Gat recently for a business trip. The staff
couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and professional. The
B'n'B itself is beautifully styled with period and Irish
folklore influences. Glen Gat is ideally located. It's only a two
minute walk from the town centre. I didn't need the car or any taxis
for my dealings. The breakfast was fantastic as was my room. I look
forward to coming back with my family in the future for a longer stay.
Many thanks again to the staff.
I loved the authentic Victorian atmosphere of the common areas. The weather outside was bleak and mid-winterish and it was a joy coming back to the glow of the guest-house in the evening.
The owner was very helpful and engaging. He is obviously passionate about the work of restoring the character of this house (actually three terraced houses combined).
Very comfortable, great location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff,
and Glen Gat provides free wifi in the bedrooms which is vital if you
need to work. I have stayed in many bigger more expensive hotels that
don't have this, or demand extra payment for it. I would definitely
recommend this hotel as comfortable and excellent value for money.
3rd time I have stayed at the Glengat, and it impresses me every time. Because it is a guest house the chat is local, informal and interesting, something you wont get at major hotel chains. Tim the owner is very kind and an excellent hotelier. The Glengat is a little gem.

No negative comment.
Nothing to dislike at the Glengat.
decor could be updated .
I was a little dissapointed in the room itself, it wasnt very nice, very ordinary, I stayed In another one fairly close by recently and the room was more luxurious for a little less money. Having said that it was fine for the money.
The only thing that was not great was the heating. The room was cold, it appeared the heating only came on at set times so when we returned at night the room was cold.
Nothing.
Room I stayed in was clean but a bit shabby. Bed was comfortable. Hard to be negative because the staff were very nice.
