The hotel is within 10-15 minutes walking distance of Omonia Metro in an area that feels safe because there are always people around. The staff are friendly and helpful; we were able to leave some luggage in their care while we travelled to a couple of islands. Our double room had a balcony with a stunning Acropolis view. Great value. Very friendly and helpfull staff,basic but clean rooms,great viewof the city.

It was a calm place to stay, next to the students-area and not far from the city-center. beautiful viev from the room, also from the back-side, a green park and a beautifull smell of pines. two balconies. nice location ; quiet neighbourhood ; nice shared kitchen. I arrived really late (3am) but the check-in was still available. Very friendly stuff. Useful shared kitchen facilities and fantastic Acropolis view from the Orion Hotel terrace. The neighbourhood is very quiet, there are a lot of bars and restaurants near to Benaki. The room was wide.Nice room terrace and excellent view of arcropolis from the terrace. bathtub in room, functioning TV (unlike other small hotels of this price range on the islands.) very nice staff(not the night receptionist - he wasnt). Exarchia is an interesting area, full of cultural offerings. The street below the hotel had an open-air market on Saturday morning. 15 minute walk from Omonia metro station and difficult to getyour bearings,get a taxi when you arrive at metro station to savea lot of hastle. Maybe a tag to advise people where the reception is (it is in the orion hotel next to dryades). But it is not very important. My friend did not like the fact the hotel is on top of a hill so each time you get back to the hotel you have to make a hard climb (for him, not for me). very thin walls. The room was fairly clean and the WC had a strange smell. There was no shampoo in the shower. The air conditioner was really noisy and the remote control was almost broken. The breakfast was really poor, so it's better to save the 6 euros and take the breakfast in one of the nearby cafes. There were some hairs in the floor.noisy place, weird people in the neighbourhood, raves in the park across the hotel from 10pm to 7am so very loud techno music impossible to sleep. place is hard to find, even taxi driver had to drive around and couldnt find it. The floor in my room was dirty. To access the room, I had to go down some dark steps and along a dark passage which did not make me feel safe.Having worked several years in the hotel business myself, I do expectthe hotel staff to be more polite, and friendly than what they showed.Not once, in contact with the staff, did I ever see a single smile -which is actually totally unacceptable working in a service business.Your services also needs to improve alot.

The main reception is in Hotel Orion right next to Hotel Dryades. Check-in and check-out take place there.

Information about the area

The hotel is located in the city centre, in Exarchia, one of the oldest areas of Athens. Although situated away from the city's commercial areas of Monastiraki, Plaka and Syntagma, they can be easily accessed by bus, metro or on foot.

The bus stop is 2-3 minutes walking distance. The metro is 15 minutes walking distance to Omonia Station. The hotel is situated on a slight hill, but the beautiful location is excellent compensation for this.

It will take between 5 and 10 minutes to reach the historical areas by bus or metro and 20 minutes to walk. The hotel is also within 5 minutes walking distance to the Archaeological Museum

Travelling information

From the Airport:
By Bus:
Take bus X95 to Syntagma Square. Then you can take bus 230, next to where the airport bus will leave you and get off at Kallidromiou stop (ask bus driver). It takes 45 minutes or it may take longer due to traffic jams. The express bus runs 24 hours a day.

By Metro:
Take the metro until Omonia Station Square. From Omonia you can proceed to Stadiou Street and take bus 813 (Averof Proussis) from the 1st bus station. Get off again at Kallidromiou stop. It takes about 40 minutes by metro to get to Omonia. The metro is operational from 05:30 until midnight.

Cauldron stop is at the corner of Trikoupi and Kallidromiou Street (only 2 blocks away from the hotel as you can see in the map).
