So well appointed, everything one might normally expect in a classy hotel was there. A neat touch was the magazine rack, even if we couldn't read German! The staff were excellent and able converse easily in English which enhanced the visit for us. The location, just off the extensive shopping strip and walkable from the the central station,was perfect. The guest kitchen system is a great innovation and offers further enhancement to a stay. A place to revisit without doubt.

Hotel is placed just in the center of old town. Reasonable price for a good hotel room. I would like to stay at this hotel once again. This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Hamburg. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were tastefully styled in 50s decor. The decor was contemporary retro and done well. The staff were faultless and couldn't do enough to help and all spoke excellent English. Except for the design in the showering room flushed away my toothpaste (cuz the weephole is rather big and my toothpaste is for travelling so very small), everything else is perfect! He was awesome. Very central location. Two minutes from the shopping area and five minutes from Central station. Even being so close to the city centre it is an extremely quiet street. It´s hard to unload luggage in front of the hotel, which lead to some confrontations with taxi drivers as we had to use one of their reserved spots to unload our car (5 adulsts with luggage)for 5 minutes. The main entrance is several stairs up, which means quite some hauling with heavy suitcases will take time. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, but this was rectified on the spot. The quality of the bedlinen should be improved, very rough tissue/pillows too soft. The bedroom was a bit small compared to others in Europe. Not that you go to a city to workout but I was there for five days and I do workout everyday. The gym in the hotel wasn't extensive to say the least. One bike, cross-trainer, treadmill and some light free weights. Other than that the hotel was perfect. All excellent. If i must say something ...... Acoustics in the shower not quite up to La Scala level. :-). air condition system was a mess, after it has reached the temperature it starts to produce an annoying sound. i couldn't sleep for this reason. There were only 2 teabags in the room and they were not replaced so ended up buying tea. Not a big issue, but the only one I could fault it on!. Unfortunately the air-conditioning was very noisy during the night. We were told it might have been due to the weather turning cold and were promised that it would be looked into. Nothing. Nothing. Would have liked 2 pillows. Strange shower room door solution - it's made of glass even in twin rooms, so if you are traveling with a same-sex friend or a relative and not into that weird kind of stuff, it's a little embarrassing. Nothing, cause I did not try any of the facilities and had only two nights and one day and most of the time I was out. Some confusion over the use of guest laundry, though it was resolved in time. Would have liked breakfast included. the pillow is too soft and low, didnt support my neck and head much while sleeping. No full length mirror in the room :-) and ventilation made very loud noise if you turned it off... when it was on, it was much better... Car park further away Loading and unloading of car can be difficult during daylight hours. When I made reservation it was said that we will have small kitchen in our room. But it had wall and was locked. Sounds from other rooms. Walls are not so thick so in case of noise you will here your naibors. It smelled food in the lobby when I arrived. parking is not at same building. Just coffee cups and tea bags for the first day, no new ones for the other days. Daily replenishment should be better. Just one seat for two persons. The pillows were too flat and the hotel did not provided more than the ones that were in the room (even when we asked at the frontdesk). The beds did not fixed together. Have a hard time located the hotel, because it is behind the alley of the shopping mall. Poor wifi connection, no full length mirror in room.
