Location of this hotel is perfect. It is over the Rue Massena, the loveliest pedestrian street, many bistros and bars,restaurants. Anja was helpful and spoke english very well. Our superior studio located in a different building , with a big bathroom, balcony onto street the room was perfectly equipped. A decent sized kitchenette with the basics for preparing meals in. A very reasonable price,free wi-fi. Close old town and the beach, a safe neighborhood. Highly recommended and I will be going.
all reviews » I loved it! Perfect location, the kitchen is very well equipped, the room is quite small but had everything I needed. Even if it is located on a very busy pedestrian street, once I closed the windows, the noise didn't disturb me one bit. I am a light sleeper and I was quite worried that I would be up all night, but I didn't hear any noise. I am planning my next trip to NIce and will be ataying at Ajoupa!. Perfect holiday flat for a summer vacation in Nice. Close to everything - the beach, the shops, transport and the old town....While not fancy, the apartments are clean and have all the amenities needed. The best thing though was the phenomenal staff. One of us was ill and the staff went out of their way to get medical assistance for us. A HUGE thank you. I liked the proximity to the Place de Massena - main shopping street, the proximity to restaurants and tram station. It is very good value for the money and it is worth staying here if you do not mind taking out the garbage by yourself (which is actually at the first floor). I would highly recommend it. Ideally located in the town centre with everything, including the old town of Nice, within walking distance. Tha apartment is in a pedestrain zone so there is no through traffic or traffic noise. The location was just one block back from the Promenade des Anglais. On main shopping street and close to sea front and old town. Double glazing meant there was no noise from street. We stayed mid=March when weather was quite cold, especially evenings/night - but there was excellent central heating and we were comfortably warm. Very central location in the heart of tourist Nice. Adequately equipped kitchen, which is a boon in Nice as eating out is fairly expensive. Generally quiet and self contained. Air conditioning when I occupied a double room. Controllable heating in room. We really liked having kitchen facilities in the bedroom, which meant we could buy food from local shops and eat in the room, so we could taste different things without always going in a restaurant. The bedroom was really big and bed very comfortable. The staffs are very nice, efficient, helpful, giving advice about sightseeing plans, etc. I like the small kitchen in the room. Though with no time to cook, at least we could have hot water to make tea or coffee. I will recommend it to my friends . The location was excellent. Just off the street of Plaza Massena. In the morning noise from the bin wagon. I can't find anything I didn't like. A bit noisy - even if your room is not located to the main street, but this was until 11 or 12 pm. Otherwise everything was just great. The only minor inconvenience was that heavy rain had flooded the street drains and we did have a bit of an odour in the bathroom, but there was nothing the proprietors could have done - and it was very French!. Reception and rooms on fifth floor - not immediately obvious there was a lift as it stopped on half landing, not main floor. Because was on main shopping street, taxis etc not able to delover/collect from hotel after 10am- cooking spoons etc not supplied. Absence of air-conditioning in the single room. As I am mildly claustrophobic this entailed keeping the window slightly open which meant street noise from late-night revellers and early morning deliveries in the busy street below. However use of ear plugs made this problem copable with. The bathroom was tiny: they could have sacrified some space from the huge bedroom in favour of the bathroom. Nothing. Reception at 5th floor. Elevator is small, but the building is old, and there's nothing to do about it. Air conditioning unit would only work above a pre-determined outside temperature. Window had to be left open one night and this resulted in insect bites. Nothing. Nothing. No complaints at all. Wifi on our floor wasn't working. Had to connect to wifi for a different floor, and we could only do that if we stood by the room's door. Slight criticism was that the place was not cleaned once during our six day stay. the bathroom is too small and there is water keeping falling down from the fan. No real issues. We were very satisfied with the stay. Nothing. The selection of TV channels was terrible. Would like extra pillows/cushions for comfort while sitting on the bed as there aren't any easy chairs. Nothing apart from blocked shower plug which caused the room to flood! Thankfully this was not too much of an issue!. No free or cheap parking around. Nice is too touristy with most restaurants offering high priced poor quality dishes. The room and furniture is somewhat run down. Noisy when widow open at night,but you are in a busy location,but ok if window closed. Cleaning period and uncovered showers. no lift, noisy from outside. We had a room with a frosted glass paneled door into the bathroom/toilet from the bedroom. This was not very nice when you had the light on as you could see the person in there. No privacy. Nothing to complain at this worthy price. I missed a balcony. not so fresh smell in the room. Uncomfortable mattress and pillows. Nothing. Exterior Corridors tired and dated. Not very clean and poor internet signal. the air-conditioner of the upper floor is not so good.
