Everything! We had the 4 first floor rooms in the old house, wow, every room was full of vintage items and antiquities of all sorts, access to the garden too which would have been lovely if the weather had been kinder. The car park and security was the reason we picked this hotel and they were very security conscious. The location was perfect and the town was amazing, recommend Mastal Restaurant which was recommended by staff here, useful map provided too. Try the Segway tour too! We wish we.
all reviews » The owner, Vincent, was there to help us check in and show us the layout. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice beds and showers. The breakfast was generous with great fruits and local pastries. And he has on-site ample parking that was free. And best of all the location - it is just outside the main entrance to the city. Helps to have a gps, but it could not find the street number for some reason. I highly recommend this hotel. Great location, just at the entrance to the old town, big room with a nice view and comfortable bed (this time a true double bed, not two beds close to each other like in the other hotels). The weather was quite bad and the heating in the room was on (which I found very comforting). Nice breakfast with a rich variety of food. Parking included in the price. I definitely recommend Pension Gardena to anyone visiting Cesky Krumlov. The location of the Penzion is great, it is located just across from the entrance of the old town. We were given a room on the 2nd floor with a great view of the town and the castle. There was a little area with a little fridge, microwave and kettle for guest to use. The breakfast selection was good too and staff was always replenishing the food to ensure that there is ample for all the guest to enjoy. Everything was wonderful! Eva was very lovely and made a great first impression! The room was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed plus great views of the castle! The garden was so beautiful and a nice space to relax if you had time! Breakfast was also fantastic! Location is amazing - you literally cross the road and you're on the old town! So pleased that we stayed there!. We had rented a 1 bdrm apartment on the outskirts of town. When we arrived, they informed us that they were giving us one in the old town instead. Great location and they let us leave the car there and they brought our luggage to us. We were given vouchers for a wonderful free breakfast at a restaurant on the main square. The owner and her daughter were super sweet & helpful!. Vaclav is a great guy and will be able to help you with almost anything. He one of the very few naturally friendly people I met in the Cesky. Great location (save from flooding). 3 min walk to the city centre. Save car parking (a must/requirement for a rental car) All you can eat break fast - even if you come late the wide range of food gets restocked! Awesome value!. Pension Gardena is located very close to the old town but far enough away that it is quiet. The couple who run it are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. Our room was very spacious and immaculately clean. The shower was hot and there was good pressure. The wifi worked well in the room and there was cnn on the satellite tv. Parking was free. We stayed in the pension for 2 nights. The room, actually unit, was really clean and comfortable. A breakfast had a sufficient food variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect - close to a town center and all sight seeing on one side and very close to a bus station on the other side. I would stay in that pension again. They had overbooked and moved us to a different apartment just off the square providing us with a voucher for breakfast at a restaurant close by. They were very helpful and made sure we were not inconvenienced at all because of the change. The second location was slightly better but both were very close to where the main attractions are. Modern rooms with all amenities in an old building provides a lot of charm (and quiet - the town could be noisy in full season) We were given a lot of latitude to store luggage until late pick up the next day - highly recommend. 1. The friendly staff at the reception desk, in the restaurant and room-cleaning, 2. The spacious, spotless room with a comfortable bed and windows looking at the castle and the green. 3. The proximity (1 block) to town. 4. A varied breakfast (included) comprising cereals, vegetables, fruits and an acceptable coffee. The hotel is located right outside the Old Town, therefore ideal for walking in and leaving your car parked on the hotel grounds. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was sufficient (cold cuts, boiled eggs, cereal, etc). This hotle offeres basic confort at a reasonable price. - The location is fantastic with ample parking. - The yard is huge and has a trampoline which is a great diversion for children. - Breakfast was good enough. - The rooms we stayed in were large and had a lot of character. The period decoration and the physical setup of the pension is very nice. We had a view of the castle - try and book room 4 of the annex building! Glass of wine in the evening on the balcony and the lights at the castle came on - absolute magic. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was excelent. Cesky Krumlov is a magic place. We were upgraded from a room to an apartment in the centre of town. The owner's daughter drove us to the apartment, gave us helpful advice and the owner let us stay for a late check out while we waited for our bus to Salzburg. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The guy in charge was really nice and accommodating. made our stay really comfortable and enjoyable. We asked for a vegetarian breakfast, and the variety and food were excellent. Also gave us lots of insights about the area and what to do. Will stay there again for sure. I was very happy with my stay in Penzion Gardena. The owner reserved me a room in 3rd floor with beautiful castle view. It's very close to the bus stop and the breakfast is very good. You can see the hotel is nicely arranged even from the decorations on the stairs. We were able to walk easily from the main bus station to the Pension Gardena and it was then only 200 meters to get to the old town. A very convenient location. Pension is so quiet and classical interior is beautiful. especially parking place is enough and too close from town centrum. There is no elevator, so if you get rooms 1-4 you are on the top floor. So there are a lot of steps. Older couples should request a lower floor if stairs are a problem. This is my only complaint, but it is very minor considering the great value and the wonderful hospitality of Vincent!!!!. Slow wi-fi. The room rate was a little too high for this level of accomodation. Nothing!. Nothing. Apartment was on 4th floor (3rd European) w/ no elevator, but that was no big deal bc it was a cool, historic building with a view of the river. Choose the right time for breakfast - can be overcrowded as people eat for a long time :). No complaints. no comment. nothing. I would be hard pressed to find something that went wrong. And petty. There is no elevator so you need to bring your bags up a long set of stairs. Although we did not care about it, the room was not made over the week-end. We needed shampoo so we found it outside the room in a cupboard. If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you, but if you are more interested in sightseeing and therefore the hotel is just the place where you can go and sleep, this is perfect. - Our rooms were a little cool at night. - The window drapes were quite thin meaning that the early morning son shone quite brightly in our rooms. The room was small but quite adequate - you can put up with a lot for the view". Toilet & shower booth was little bit tight, but not a problem at all. Nothing. No complaints ; all went well & met our expectations,. We were very much on our own with no attendence. You may not need anything in most cases, but in case you do, it would be a bit of an effort. I counldn't ask for more. Everything was perfect. nothing. Gets pretty hot in the summer without a/c. Not located directly in city center,but not so far away. No complaints at al. Walking on the stairs at night are not very comfortable, but not much problem. Nothing that I don't like :). no elevator, move a big luggage to the 3 floor is not easy:(. The bed was uncomfortable. Mattress was very thin. no.
