Stuff are professionals. They know how to deal with Guests . Le Meridian is choosing them Very Carefully. I respect that. Location is the best for everything. You will enjoy Shanghai . Facilities are kind of okay . they can make more. Very cooperating stuff, they will do whatever you want. they treat you like a VIP member. Will stay again for sure. The location of the hotel cant be better. Right in the middle of the city, on the famous pedestrian street nanjing road and next to people's park. Very easy axess to metro lines. Breakfast was rich and the service was exellent. I need to mention our great view from our room on the 37th floor as well.
all reviews » Friendly and helpful staff. Especially the doorman who hailed the taxis. Very good service. He instructed the taxi driver about my destination. Front line staff like him are very important but sometimes overlooked. Please reward him. he was on duty around 10:40 am on 25 January Friday. The breakfast buffet was amazing. One of the best I have experienced albeit some of the ot items were cold (sausages, eggs benedict etc). The hotel was right in the heart of the shopping district and walking district to the Bund. The Executive lounge staff including the chef ,all were great are well trained . Ms. Cathy Chen in the check-in reception counter is very efficient and professional . Elevators were little bit confusing but they are really fast at least. You could have provided free Wifi. This is standard practice especially for hotels catering to business travellers. As a gold spg member I stood in the special check in lane that they had to find out three people were checked in ahead of me. I was only dealt with when I raised my voice at reception. As a gold member I was ignored. Shocking start to my stay. -Part of staff don't speak English very good , how can they understand what i want!! -I shoud pay for internet in the room!!!. The elevators are a bit cumbersome and slow. nothing to dislike. Very large and busy, with different lifts you have to take to get to different levels. too short a trip. Old hardware fitness club. The first room they offered us smelled bad and we had to pay a lot extra for an upgrade. It was absolutely worth it but it costs a lot. Nothing. Reception staff tried to sell me an upgrade package on check in that would have meant a 30% increase in room rate. Nothing. Lifts/elevator system is bizarre. High price And. Lifts late. Poor english. Concierge service. the price at the restaurant is too expensive and I did not enjoy the quality. Even if i did the late check -in (23H), the Late Check-out (19h) was 650 RMB of extra charge. The bathroom was poor and we had to pay for internet in the room. They said it was not included in the rate. In this day and age most luxury hotels include internet as standard. I chose this hotel for our last night in Shanghai as I thought it would be a little special and was more expensive than other 5 star hotels. However I was disappointed. The hotel voucher issued by letsbookhotel.com states breakfast for the room, didn't expect it was only for 1 person. Breakfast. Service provided depends on the person and his own attitude. It does not seem to be a product of proper training and hence might not be consistent among all staff.
