It was the best hotel experience we had in China. Hotel is located in a small alley which is narrow, old and dirty. But the hotel itself worth your trouble walking through the alley. It's about 100 m away from the main road (DongZhiMenNei DaJie), which is a street full of restaurants. 8 minutes walk to be exact to BeiXingQiao subway station on subway line 5. 1km to DongZhiMen transportation hub, which connect you with buses, subways, and airport express train. It is close to all major attracti.
all reviews » This hotel is in the middle of a hutong. If you don't like traditional Chinese neighborhoods, living in what is a back alley, this isn't the hotel for you. The taxi driver had to stop and ask directions four different times. Twice he tried to drop us off at the wrong location The hotel itself was wonderful. It had a large courtyard, large room, clean and safe. The staff spoke English and was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and my daughter is planni. We highly recommend this place!!! The location in the hutong, off the main road, was amazing! We enjoyed exploring the hutongs nearby--we especially enjoyed eating cheap local food. It was also close to the subway, so that makes travelling around very easy. The staff are very friendly & helpful, and there is always someone at the reception who speaks English. We had our own room & bathroom, and they were VERY clean. There was also cheap laundry service & cheap beer at the hotel. The. Also on letsbookhotel.com it says the hotel accepts credit card......it doesn't meaning we had an embarrassing arrival with not enough cash on us to pay for the room. Our room overlooked broken bathtubs but the courtyard itself is beautiful. Only the slight musty odour in room was annoying. The room was booked for three nights for 200 RMB/night, but when I extended for one more night they charged me extra 300 RMB/night without prior notice, explaining it is their normal "non Booking" price. So I was leaving a bit disappointed. To get to the hotel you must go through a few hundred meters of “run down” area. After a while it did not bother me. Nothing!. Nothing. It's located in a depressed hutong which has some recycling job done there. Once you pass that hutong and enter the hotel, then everything is fine. Very difficult to find. The Ming Courtyard is situated in the middle of a hutong, and even the local people, living in that hutong, couldn't tell us where to find it. Beds very hard!. Price to high. For that price and less it's possible to have a room in a clean rate 4 **** hotel in the center of Beijing inclusive breakfast. The sewage smelled rather horrible.
