Everyobe there was so fantastic. They were helpful with direction and suggestions and anything else we needed. I was there on a oa trip with y boyfriend for my birthday and got an upgraded room. I overlooked the parking lot from the fifth floor but you could see te waiting mountins and a lake not too far off. The area was sketchy being near Chinatown and I was a bit worried about it. But the helpfullness of the staff, especially van at the front desk, made me decide to stay. They showed us ways.
all reviews » I liked basically everything about the Patricia. It is so close to downtown and Chinatown, there is great coffee and food to be found in and around the inn. The rooms were great!! Great views and the staff were lovely. Some people feel a little uncomfortable about the location, but my 5 year old and I didn't feel worried once. The people on the streets are just doing their thing, no need to worry about them. I will absolutely go there again when I'm next in vancouver. I stayed one night, all the staff went out of their way; they are very nice and helpful. I ordered the best Fish and Chips ever (discount on food) from the Hotel Pub, took it up to my small quite 5th. Floor room. The elevator is old and very solid and safe. The bedding and towels very hygienic. The entire hotel guests seemed to be all tourist, friendly and happy. Great value for the money, right next to Chinatown so lots of amazing and inexpensive food options too. Even though it's an older building, it was excellently maintained and very clean. The linens and towels were higher quality than at many fancy hotels. If you're a non-smoker, make sure to ask for a room on a non-smoking floor. We stayed on two seperate occasions on our holiday.a very friendly welcome from Noor, who took the time to answer all our questions no matter what. He could not have been more helpful.The food and drink at Pats pub in the building was great value.Close to china town and downtown.Value. The price was right. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It is an easy walk to China town and a vigorous walk to Gastown. The bus lines are available right on the corner. The attached pub has excellent food, a relaxed atmosphere and a discount for hotel guests. The staff were reassuring and helpful and it was a good deal in a very big and beautiful city. Moreover, you don't have a lot of room in the bedroom and no A/C. the crowd too many people. The smell in the hallway and lift. People outside at all hours but they dont bug you. The location was in an area where there are a lot of homeless but we did not feel unsfafe. The people living rough around the area . the elevator is too slow ... just kiddin'. I can't think of a thing I really didn't like. the dodgy clientele outside the building. wi-fi tend to die down on me :(. The room is rather small. The breakfast is not in hotel. Go to a not far bakery. The area is not the best, but couple of streets away is downtown and we (and our car in the parking lot) felt always safe. lot of misfit people around the area. - Very bad area for drop-outs and the like hanging around. There wasn't anything. Weird layout of room.. And not sure it is legal. Externalities beyond hotels scope. No complaints. very tiny room. area was a bit rough but caused us no trouble. The bums. neighborhood little edgy, but never felt threatened or in danger. Noisy at night with people on street and traffic. Dubious surrounding. A lot of homeless people and drug dealers around. Not suitable for families with kids. The location really makes it uncomfortable to go outside the hotel, even during the day. We didn't feel very safe with all the people hanging around in the street. Some weird people live in that area!. It is in a scary neighborhood. At least at the beginning it was scary since I've never had a experience to live close to homeless people. However, it turned out that they are stinky but harmless. Even though the room served the purpose, it was quite small. The TV remote didn't work properly: had to turn the TV on manually. Unfortunately the hotel/inn is located on one of the sketchiest streets in Vancouver. There are many homeless and impoverished people living and loitering on East Hastings Street. It may be of concern to people unaccustomed to be such immense poverty. The room was small and the location is not one of the best because to get to Vancouver center you have to cross a piece of street full (really full) of druged people,prostitutes ecc. The hotel is located within the same area as Vancouver's Salvation Army help for the city's poor - soup kitchens etc, which meant that it did not feel like a safe place to go out at night with children and the bar that was part of the hotel does not serve food or drink to children. The hotel staff kindly arranged for us to be served food in the hotel library, so we did eat as a family, but we were not happy to stay a second night, so limited in eating options.
