The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. Breakfast had toast, bagels, English muffins, a few cereals, oatmeal packets, some fruit, and the usual coffee and juice. The location was geat in Chinatown with a streetcar location right outside the hotel! A great bakery just a few stores down, with avg costs $1.20 per item. Car parking was underground garage, which made it easy. Cost for parking was $10/day if you never moved your car, or $19/day for in/out every day. A .
all reviews » I've stayed at Toronto's Super 8 Hotel three times already. First, it was a random choice, however, as I found it the best value for money, in comparison to other hotels in Toronto, I stayed there during my second and third trips. Rooms are big and clean. Good location (Chinatown - Toronto's attraction by itself with many high quality Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants). There are also free wifi and relatively cheap garage parking (10$ per night) - you won't find a cheaper overnight parking in . Location, I like to be downtown and this is the heart of the downtown( for me) I spent many years living in Kensington market - which is a two minute walk from the hotel and te main reason I chose it. It's also budget friendly, there's a pretty decent buffet breakfast in the am and is close to everywhere I want to be once I leave. Staff were friendly and helpful. Place was clean and I loved our room. Bed was SO comfortable. It is very convenient to many attractions that we had wanted to visit. Whether walking or taking the ttc. Good food is closeby. Could hope on the street car to go to the nearest subway to take thye subway to Kipling St and then the airport bus to Pearson Int - all for just CAD3! :) Walking distance, 15-20 minutes, to bus terminal for trips out of Toronto - or just a short ride by TTC which is in front of hotel. - The size of the room ... it was the size of an apartment! - The jacuzzi bath tub - The view of the CN tower outside our window - The furniture was cool, the round table and the big chairs - The elevator took us right down to the street without having to go through the lobby - King size bed was comfortable - Room was clean - Design of the hotel - very spacious. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. On-site parking was very reasonable compared to other downtown hotels. I think that the Super 8 is a great place to stay. The staff was going to change our room for us, being really nice about it, but we only had one more night by the time I said something to them. (We stayed 4 nights.). The window in my room didn't open. However, there was ac, so it was still ok for one night. Shower water pressure left something to be desired in the pm but was great in the am. - Only Ice machine was in the lobby - Breakfast area was very crowded. Signage could be improved and more clearly delineated to both the lobby and the underground parking. The elevator to the lobby was not working most of the time. Breakfast could be more diverse, with perhaps a bit of service. Everything was ok!. Breakfast is a pitty. Yes it is free but a breakfast with 6 green apples, a few oranges, a coffee machine is not really convenient. However, there is a McDonald's right down the street. Beside that. I do not have ANY complaints. Oh, the hair dryer blew up on me, I advised the front desk and they changed it right away! Love it. Difficult to find out exactly where the entrance was. The free wi-fi signal was very weak in the hotel room (which was only two away from reception), but it worked very well in communal areas. My room was close the the Relax Bar so this made a high volume of traffic outside my room which tended to get noisy at times. this room is showing some signs of wear the AC unit makes a horrible noise - the carpet could use a seam clean and there is mold staring on the bathroom walls. 3 things that could be corrected easily and cheaply. There was nothing that I disliked but I was suprised that the lobby was on the third floor. But since we were over a mall that was fine and there were signs. The hotel was nice but the location wasn't, it's in the middle of a mall that looks kind of dingy. The clock in our room was an hour slow so we almost missed our dinner reservation. throw away the overlays (old stains) and I prefer to sleep under a coverlet instead of a sheet+blanket set, esp. in winter time. Breakfast could have been a bit better in terms of wider food selection. The elevator was really slow. Had to ask for the remote for the air conditioner unit as I found the air very stuffy and the carpet needs to be stretched it wrinkles right in the middle of the roomcausingthe possibility of tripping. But so much food outside we didn't even eat/drink anything except tea and milk. The breakfast is quite simple, too much maybe. Gym closed without explanation. No payphone visible. Nothing, I stayed there one night and encountered no issues. Breakfast was minimal - toast, bagels, English muffins, cereal and some fruit - but good considering it is included in the standard room cost. Nothing . were missing laundry powder when we needed it. Parking a bit removed and harder to get to after leaving the car - only small inconvenience. Not cheap but it is Toronto. Red tour bus not much good - guide staff and driver not good. Not much to see. Nothing. Room was clean but could have been cleaned a lot better. Could tell the bathroom wasn't cleaned that well. Our sink and counter was dirty. Also the towels still had hair in them from other guests, all the towels did. A little but of cleaner and a duster can go a long way. getting out of the parking lot was a little tricky but once fiqured out was good...
