The front desk and concierge staff were outstanding. We had a problem with the air conditioning. Someone came to look at it and said it was working fully but that the room was not cooling. They gave us keys to another room and said we could have whichever room was the most comfortable. The beds and pillows are the best. The bed was comfortable. It was nice having the mall attached. You could not hear anything outside the room (traffic, kids, etc.) Skating on the canal was great! There were lots of choices to eat very close.
all reviews » Excellent location, clean hotel, contemporary rooms with all of the amenities, wonderful views from the 16th floor overlooking the rideau canal & parliament buildings. Loved the comfortable beds. Although we did not stay for business purposes, we felt it was set up nicely for that purpose. Rooms were clean, bright and decor was crisp. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. Very clean and super comfortable rooms. Excellent facilities. The desk clerk came right to the elevator to help us learn how to use new system. Love parking right under hotel. The staff in the bar were particularly great. Also like the idea of trading daily room servicing for vouchers. liked the staff at the door and front desk liked being able to have my car cleaned liked elevator arrangement. Facilities are excellent. Access to the hotel is easy. Staff is very friendly and the location is ideal. Check-in and check-out very good. The service people were very friendly and helpful. Elevators!!!!!! very slow understaffed in the restaurant. Room that we had checked into smelled of smoke. However, we mentioned this to the front desk and they immediately changed our room. A little expensive. Elevators were very slow to arrive. on the 9th floor and heard loud music from street some mold at edge of bath. I call Booking and asked to have my two day stay moved up. After waiting 24hrs I called the Westin direct and had no problem making the change myself. I don't have my bill but hope to not be charged twice!!. Slow elevators with an odd system of choosing floor before entering and as a result, many crowded trips in the elevator. The elevevators were under repair and VERY slow, which caused some frustration. The functionality of the elevators was a disgrace, though the "smart" system seemed, in theory, to be quite promising. No apologies or explanations were given. Do you not think it was important enough to address with customers that were paying more than $300 per night? I was also disappointed that my specific request for a King bed was not met and that I would have had to "upgrade" from a traditional room or buy some kind of membership to get one. Poor customer service. Can't think of anything we didn't like. They charged my credit card for $35 more than in the invoice. Still waiting for the reply... Everything was fine. Elevators- up to 20 minute waits even with the extra service elevators that were sometimes available. The elevator was super slow. The Continental breakfast was a bit sparse for the price. It often includes yoghurt,cheese,and or muffins, e.g. The coffee machine was not clean and the hot tub in the pool area did not work. Pool area too small. paying for internet. paper cup for coffee?!. No break fast included. New electronic elevators were utter kaos. I was put in a room with renos going on all around me. Very noisy and I was a SPG Gold card member. price!.
