Beautiful old converted warehouse across from the ports in old Montreal. All the latest ammenities and updates. Beautiful bedding and mattress. However the pillows are too large and uncomfortable.Exposed beams and brick. Nice bathtub unfortunately my Jacuzzi tub did not work. It was very cold in Montreal when I visited and they added an extra heater in the room. There is no coffee maker in the room although coffee and tea were available in the lobby at no charge. all reviews » Charming room with wonderful view of the river and parkway. Location perfect for exploring the old parts of Montreal. The breakfasts, in the hotels pub/restaurant, were so good that we decided to eat one of our dinners there too. We were not disappointed. The staff were extraordinary. We were greeted by Frederik who took care of our baggage then parked the car. Sylvie, the front desk person, helped us with numerous travel issues - small and large. A fantastic hotel in old montreal. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every moment. All staff were super helpful and friendly providing us with much needed advice on what to see and do. The building has the old world charm with modern day enhancements. Room was spacious with comfortable bed. Hotel location provides easy access to metro (only a short walk). Wifi worked well. Location was perfect...for walking in Old Town and near-by; for access to Metro and therfore the City; for great restaurants. The design of this renovated building is very client thoughtful.....great wood working, nice fixtures, very comfortable beds, huge bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everyone agreed we'd be back in an instant!. Stayed in the River view room. Not much of a river view; however, the beautiful large old windows opened up into the room and we sat and had champagne by the window watching the tourists, horse and buggies and even wedding pictures being taken. Made for a great "get away" ambiance. You could feel the city vibe in the air. Would book this room again. The hotel was wonderful; the bed was extremely comfortable, both the rooms and the lounge were well designed and welcoming; the staff was fabulous and went out of their way to be helpful. The location in the old part of the city was both convenient for us and still picturesque, as we were there for both business and pleasure. Great staff, very knowledgeable, finds info on anything. Great location with lots of local activity. More than a weeks worth of activity within walking distance and Metro (subway system). Plenty of friendly English spoken. Walked everywhere from this location; did not need one taxi. Montreal was perfect: jazz festival, pedestrian markets, and Chihuly exhibit!. Everything, the room was beautiful, we could gaze out into the streets looking over the river, drink wine and enjoy. Loud music from the restaurant could be heard in the room but it did not go on too late. Gaspar was ok if looking for pub type meal. Very minor things...the clock in the room was off and couldn't figure out how to correct it....the flashing message light could never be turned off (or at least the staff didn't know how to do it)....you might need a lesson on working the fabulous shower heads (all 5 of them!). Nothing worth mentioning. Shower is too small and has no soap dish. Showers were unpleasant and frustrating due to this. Early evening tavern staff seemed a bit put-off that we only wanted to have a drink. There were no other patrons at this time, but we were not allowed to sit at a table of our choice because we were only a party of two...very strange. Wish I could afford to stay there longer. The only problem I had, was on Friday and Saturday night, the streets were a madhouse of young people, making lots of racket until 3am , but still loved the place. Nothing, it was a superb week end. I couldn't stay longer. Nothing. Having nothing to do with the hotel...street construction at 7 am. pillows too hard or big or something. wish I could have opened a window. The walls are a little thin. You can hear the other guests and the maids are very noisy. Too much loud conversation between them and too much slamming drawers and such. It's a small complain but my husband and I got quite ill and tried to rest but couldn't because of the noises. Very slow elevator. Room was a little hard to access. There are large support posts everywhere so you have to pay attention when walking in halal and rooms. The toilet made a flushing sound every 10 minutes. We did not report it. The elevator was slow and you had to wait for it a while. The adjoining restaurant could be a little higher end menu. And I didn't have time to stay another night. Should have been a small couch or lounge chairs to sit in. Only a desk chair and a large cushioned bench. Heat was not able to be controlled so ended up too warm. Windows to the water view were extremely dirty and really needed washing. I did not get a view of the water as promised. During the night, some machinery "takes off" and makes a sound like a rocket blast (short-lived, but every night). The breakfast was not good. The food was something you would expect to find at a a Super 8 Motel. Inability to control air-con. It was great overall. if I had to make any recommendations I'd say the Pillows were a bit high. Perhaps a flatter option would be useful. Also there was no binder or info in the room about the hotel, services etc. the airconditioning was not cool enough in the room, not a good thing during the hot humid summer. No complaints. That I couldn't have stayed longer!. When we arrived they told us breakfasts free until 11:30 AM however on Monday morning it was only offered to 10:30AM (which we weren't aware and were out late Sunday night....). Very slow lift and noisy. Walls were not sound proof, hear the snow being being removed all early morning. Saw a bath on photos but none was in my room once I got there. Lighting was a bit dim Shower a bit small. The mix up with our room. Restaurant service very slow no table service in lobby bar public areas could be cleaner. The time of the hotel closing is 2:00 in the morning, why can not be 24 hours open. A bit pricey, but well worth it.
