An elegant, spacious and friendly hotel a matter of a few minutes' walk from the main sights of Ieper - the Menin Gate, Cloth Hall, for example. Extremely interested and helpful staff, smiling and obliging in the "nothing's too much trouble" sense. Hugely helpful in describing how to get to local sights, timing of local events, etc. It was as though they really enjoyed making sure that guests get the maximum enjoyment from staying at the hotel and in Ieper generally. Altogether it was a wonderf.

The hotel is an obviously interesting old building which had been wonderfully kept, clean comfortable and cool in the heat, the high ceilings were a boon. Breakfast was delicious constant fresh supplies were brought in for me the best- great coffee! We had rooms facing the road and were surprised that there was no noise issue to disturb us. Great value. we went for the history of ww1, the cloth hall and museum is great, and the last post at the menign gate, is held every night at 8.00pm. ypres is a great base for the ypres salient tours. The hotel is in a great location, with very friendly and helpfull staff, the contintental breakfast has plenty of choice, and the accomodation is very comfortable. I would definately recommend the Albion Hotel, to others. Staff were very friendly & most helpful with local information. Lovely lounge & breakfast area with attention to detail. Location is perfect being so close to Menin Gate & Museum , but quiet as it is tucked away on side street. It was also nice not to have to pay for parking. No problem finding a spot on street by hotel. Overall great value and would recommend. Highly recommended.The hotel is only five minutes from the main square and Menin Gate. Parking is good. The staff were exceptionally helpful. There is no restaurant but local restaurants abound. Breakfast was very good and the lounge and service also good. Quiet, we asked to change rooms as were are used to silence at night, we were given a room above the cobbled street outside and were concerned about traffic noise, on request changing was no problem. The mum and daughter who ran the hotel were very helpful, recommended lovely restaurants and we forgot a travel plug they lent us one. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Lack of parking but staff helped us with this. Laundry service was poor. Nothing. Nothing. The car park is challenging - the way in is narrow. N/A. Nothing. Nothing. The rooms are very basic but fine for a short visit. The car park is no longer there while refurbishments are happening and the on street free parking outside can be a bit hit and miss. It was advertised with private car park. At time of visit car park would not accomodate many vehicles, and vehicular access very narrow. Street & public car parking available. The hotel car park isn't big enough if the hotel is full but we were lucky in that we managed to park directly in front of the hotel in a free parking space. There is plenty of alternative parking further up the road but you have to pay. Nothing.
