Built as a hotel for the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873, the luxurious Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna can be found right on the famous Ringstraße boulevard in the heart of the city, 10 minutes' walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral. Re-opened in March 2013, it has 2 restaurants, a bar and an exclusive spa and fitness centre. Decorated with high-quality fabrics and carpets and equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine and an iPad, the rooms at the Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna offer views of the surrounding historic buildings or the inner courtyard. All rooms are non-smoking. A wide range of typical Viennese specialities, as well as dishes from all over the world are served in the hotel's restaurants, which also have a show kitchen. There is an elegant cigar lounge and a lobby lounge and bar serving coffee, Viennese pastries, and delicious cocktails. Spa and fitness facilities include a sauna area, 6 treatment rooms, a hydro pool and state-of-the-art equipment for your workout. Sufficient parking spaces are available on site. Within a 5-minute walk, you can reach the Sigmund Freud Museum and the Danube Canal with its numerous summer bars. The Baroque-style Augarten Park is 10 minutes away. Schönbrunn Palace is easily reachable by metro from the nearby Schottenring Metro Station.

It is a truly wonderful hotel. From the concierge to the maids, the lobby, restaurants, rooms...I Couldn't find a fault in it. It is in a ok. Location to enjoy the beautiful city. The hotel is perfectly designed, the rooms are spacious and the deco timeless and elegant. A faultless hotel to recommend!. Very competent, friendly, supportive, passionated stuff, trying to differenciate by stuff- value. Great breakfast. Homely interior design, we felt comfortable from the first minute. Extremly clean, specially the bathroom and toilet.

Possibly the quietest hotel room I've ever stayed in and the BEST shower in the world! Highly recommend. A new hotel built with every detail for comfort. One has to love the electronic shower - push button and immediate temperature to an exact specification. A breakfast you will dream of. Staff amazing!. The whole experience was excellent from the moment you step in the door. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely. The lounge area was immaculate with excellent food and drinks available. Beautiful modern hotel; excellent location on Ringstrasse; complete breakfast buffet with eggs/omlettes made to order; efficient and friendly service (actually, we were treated like royalty). Breakfast for kids for euro 32 is a bit overprized. Parking garage is not included in price, and very costly - 4 euro per hour. Hotel guests should be offered a special ticket. A professional electronic savvy couple like us just could not figure out how to turn off all the room lights nor turn on all the plugs. We could have called the staff who would have been at the door in 5 seconds, but we chose to laugh at ourselves and enjoy the room. Smoking is allowed in the Henri Lou bar which is a great place but ruined by the smoke. Hard to think of anything; we were extremely pleased with our stay. We had to wait 30 minutes to check in to have the room checked. Some the gadgets did not work or worked slowly. breakfast price is high. That I had to leave!. Nothing. Service can be a little slow for a Hotel of this calibre ! and once was non existent !!!. The location - it's a bit far from the hustle and bustle. I actually thought it was in a different location when I booked. would love if Spa could open till later hour like 10 or 10:30 pm. Searching for a negative? The only thing I could remotely fault is that sometimes the staff were almost too overbearingly keen to help and ask us about everything - but perhaps that's just me, I like to be left to my own devices promptly when getting into a hotel room after a long journey. Having staff follow us to our room with ice rather than simply giving us some - an example of pretension. 2 people at the reception desk seems a bit short. Whatever the time of the day, customers have to wait sveal minutes. Not a drama but could clearly be improved. Breakfast area doesnt rise up to the expectations. Small serving area of the buffet, bad service. You have to wait in line for 5-10 minutes for an omelette...!. ipad for all hotel services, I am ok with an ipad but I can imagine many who would be bewildered, (no paper back up). Additional charges. Mainly coffee facilities in the room, tea an after thought. Staff English very variable for a capital city hotel. Inconsistent service and sometimes very slow. Only average restaurants, was disappointing I expected better. No late check out-at least that day. I arrived around 3pm and stayed for more than 1.30 hour to give me my suite. A hotel of this standard should have a decent pool. Mayby the pool, too small to swim in it but nice to relax. more english channels....more guidance on what to do...only there for a weekend so had to figure stuff out quickly... Nothing. No parking. No more funny in bars. The Internet on my iPad did not work. The staff said it was because it was configured in US. They provided their own iPad for use. Faulty work of the reception/reservation team, they ignored / did not read "special requests" that we added to order in letsbookhotel.com. As a result, we had to pay for 5 nights as 6 nights. No reference to e-mails sent to reception before our arrival. We got a double charge on the use of the minibar. Extremely expensive for a mediocre service. Leaking room. Service extremely slow.
