We always stay at the Oaks Plaza Pier. The Oaks Pier is very modern, with an ocean view & world class restaurants at the doorstep. The Pier Bar is a great place to drink bubbles, wine or beer & watch the sun setting over the ocean. You can catch the tram into the city for great shopping, checking out the Art Gallery, Museum, Adelaide Oval (when it's completed it will be awesome) etc. or drive on to the wine regions at McLaren Vale, Barrossa Valley or Clare Valley (only an 1 hour away) h.
all reviews » Large clean rooms with good facilities. We had booked a few different room types as friends were joining us and the staff were very helpful and organised our multiple bookings efficiently. Seaview rooms are particularly good as they are quieter than the garden view rooms and are worth the extra cost. If we came back to Adelaide we'd definitely stay here again. big room with kitchen and washing machine which are 2 important things for me traveling and having just the weekend to relax - nice view (I booked a sea view room) - nice pooli and not a shady fitness room so enjoyful. Loved the accommodation, friendly staff and great facilities. In future I would like to have the availability of lower prices. We have stayed with you at least 3 times, so as a frequent stayer this would be great. Oaks Plaza Pier is one of my favorite places to stay. Love the proximity to the beach, tram and eateries....just a great spot. Love it Love it Love it!!!! Going back as soon as I can :-). I had a great time at the Pier, I was not sure what to expect as I don't travel often, but the room was well appointed, the staff were helpful and polite, it was altogether a great trip. We requested a room with a spa and a sea view. We got the spa and were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. It was really lovely and we enjoyed our 2 night stay thoroughly. Nice clean room overlooking the sea. Able to cook own food in room. Lap pool and machines in gym. You can hear the sea at night if the loud party animals don't ruin it. Clean, comfortable, Location on beach, views & safe secure place to stay. Cleaners serviced rooms daily. We will return liked our stay. We had to park in an open area although we paid for carparking. The nightclub downstairs on the Saturday night was abit noisy. The pool was out of commission on my first day there (fixed for the second) and my key card stopped functioning (replaced instantly). Minor. The weekend revellers were far too loud and thier smoke drifted in. Could not sleep and had to close windows. A waste of $200 for that night, but I havn't asked for a refund. Two of the gym machines were out of order and there were no free weights. Car park cost @ $20 a day extra. no breakfast buffet for a 4.5 star hotel is a bit disapointing especially for a Sunday morning!. Staff could have been a bit friendlier - just very straight and professional. Combined washing machine dryer was useless. There was no clothes airer to hang wet clothes on. Exiting from bath after shower extremely slippery & quite difficult nowhere to safely hold onto resulting in 2 accidents causing considerable bruising. Dishwasher not working. The room we were initially allocated was a direct ocean view .When we arrived we were given a room to the side of the hotel . Yes it still had an ocean view but definitely not like the one our original allocation would have provided us with. We felt a little cheated :(. EVERYtime we stay the key cards have a problem, the staff are not very helpful. The location and hotel is up to grade, but I always have a problem with the staff. publc carparking. I stayed in room 230 (9/5/13- 10/05/13) which had several areas of mould around bath/shower area. Could not understand how cleaners let this happen as build up of mould does not happen overnight.All other places were spotless so a real shame to report this. December is a busy/party time of year. However other patrons staying at the hotel need to be a bit more considerate of noise on their balcony (especially at 3.30am). No free parking. No breakfast included in rates. Swimming pool needs upgrading. Only got to stay one night!!. One little complaint '''''''bed was way too hard. Small things - front door always jammed. Felt like a business rather than cosy. Didn't have a record of my booking when I got there and front desk weren't very helpful until I showed them my credit card statement showing them debiting money from me 6 weeks before. Also on checkout they charged me a further sum for one night because of some daft letsbookhotel.com policy where they only debit you for 6 nights first. Again staff not very helpful at that time as this should've been explained to me at check in. Could maybe offer a wider selection of tv/ Sky channels, but I wasn't there to watch TV. Just a little bit of extra detail to cleaning, eg the mirror had what appeared to be childrens prints on it and there was dried milk splatters on one of the chairs, windows smeared. Nothing drastic but noticable. That we could not afford to stay longer. Having to leave!. On arrival the power was out, so we couldn't get into our room for 2 hrs, this meant we didn't hav time for a swim!. the shower could be out of the bath when you have chidren door did not open well and the card you used in lift keep dropping out so you could not swipe it. Pubs underneath premises. Poor service at check in. Limited cooking utensils for serviced apartments. Nothing - loved everything.. Pity the sunday papers were not available as I ended up having breakfast at another venue when I had planed to eat in the restaurant. given cost of rooms park should be offered free. Having to leave :(. Need to provide free parking for guests. staff were really rude at check in. they didnt beleive our letsbookhotel.com code and so we could'nt check in. witnessing an accident outside prior to checking in. parking is expensive. Postcards were not sent on for us as was agreed.
