  First of all Aspros Potamos is a really wonderful place to stay. We stayed there for 8 days and really enjoyed the peace and quit in the valley of Aspros Potamos. The beach and the village of Makry Gialos are about a 15 minute walk via a small road through olivetrees and small vegetable gardens. The facilities are good, normal shower (very tiny stream), - We stayed for 8 days at Aspros Potamos and we loved it! Really where we were looking for, something different, in nature, with a lot of silence and calmness. Birds singing all day long, the sound of the river and reading a book. On the other hand there a plenty things to do, walking to the beach, restaurants and shops in 15 minutes or walking the Pefki gorge.   The apartments are located close to the beach and in a beautiful garden. The centre of Makrigialos is within 5-minute walk. When we arrived the host was very welcoming, she left some sweets, teabags, sugar and a litre of juice in the room. The kitchen was fully equipped. Aparments were clean and neat.

  Paradise! Fabulous clean traditional Cretan houses in a great location slightly away from the town of Makry Gialos. Wonderful beaches close by (with excellent snorkelling) and lots of great restaurants just a short drive away. The biggest asset of ville de soleil is the owner Costas, he is super friendly, helpfull and his service is above any level I have ever seen before. He called us the day before to ask if we needed assistance to get there, I arrived with a broken gearbox, he started calling around and my car was fixed a few hours later, he has shown us areas to visit we would never have found ourselves, we had a couple of nice evening discussions and drinks...   The apartment was clean and the staff very friendly. Even though it is self-catering, it got cleaned for us twice during our 7-night stay and we got clean towels both times. It is a 5 minute walk from a very nice beach and lots of restaurants and coffee shops. - There is a great and relaxing atmosphere.   The room was well kitted out with all mod cons, Good fridge and AC which was important as we where there in a heat wave - it helped us get a good nights sleep!
