  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. My partner is a University student studying Fine Art, and we were on he - The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

  We arrived early,really only wanted to drop cases off but was warmly greeted and allowed up to to our rooms. We had a knock a few mins later to check everything was in order. The whole establishment was spotless and all staff very friendly, would certainly stop again and recommend to others.   We had a fabulous one night stay at The Chester Residence. Staff were very helpful and the suite was fantastic. All rooms were very spacious (we had the 1st floor suite) and the location was only about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket and Princes Street. Would highly recommend to anyone and return to this hotel without a doubt.

  The Hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is very close to the city center with lots of bars and restaurants on the way in.
