Lovely hotel, what a find! We left a 4-star large hotel nearby to stay in this beautiful small boutique hotel. The hotel is just in back of the Opera, walking distance from the main drag, the river, and the Central Market. Our room was spacious and quiet with oriental decor so it maintained the romance and ambience of Vietnam; the breakfast area with the faux outdoor scene and pillars was gorgeous and the breakfast had several tasty selections, was very satisfying, and the pho was divine. all reviews » I have stayed here a few times now and they are friendly, helpful, safe, the food is also acceptable, it is located within the city heart and great location for access to business dinners and other restaurants and entertainment etc., no waiting for taxis and staff give above expected help and assistance. Very nice staff and the room was nice and clean, with a simple but powerful shower! Breakfast was also great, excellent omelette (though very heavy!!). We booked two trips with them and they were good as well. And the location was super near the high end bars and tourist places. It's a perfect hotel to stay for one night. The people are nice, it's clean, the breakfast is good (with fresh fruit) and you can easily walk to the Saigon River, which is really beautiful in the evening. the staff, who went out of their way to help, i went out early on a day trip, and gave me a takeaway breakfast without, me even having to ask for it. Great location, if you want a no frills, clean hotel in the heart of the town (opera house a 2 min walk away) go for this. Well positioned near the heart of the city, but fairly quiet. The staff was friendly and effective. Everything was perfect. I only have one negative . i stayed on the 8th(top floor) and the fire escape had a padlock on and it appeared to be used as a linen or storage room - if a fire , and lifts out ,very dangerous. It's not really a bad point, rather a remark: they have an awesome rooftop with great view over Ho Chi Minh City, but unfortunately there is no bar or possibility to eat over there, that's a pitty. Nothing. On both our stays which had been booked well in advance we were allocated one room on arrival and asked to move the following day.This meant that you couldn't unpack etc. Breakfasts were good if you liked egg or soup but the addition of pancakes and croissants would have been a boon for those who don't. Decor quite dated, bathroom really in need of update. breakfast not to the standard of other hotels we stayed in in Vietnam. This is me nit picking.... Loud clock ticking on the wall but I just took the battery out. A little noise coming through the walls. No coffee or tea making facility in room. Looks a bite old. The room smelled like dust specially when the air conditioning was on. However I think it could be good for one or two nights.
