The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager arranged a special seafood lunch for our group. They went out and bought the fresh seafood and had it prepared for us. It was excellent. The beach location was beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The facilities were immaculate. We loved the resort and wished we could have stayed longer. It is the best place on Cat Ba island.
all reviews » Very warm welcome, all the staff is really friendly and attentionate. Our room was upgraded because we were on our honeymoon, so we had a big room with an excellent view on the bay. The evening of our stay the hotel offered a honeymoon cake, which was really a nice attention. Facilities are very good, beach just in front of the hotel was clean. We have accomodated into many exelent hotels here in Vietnam. But never as exelent, comfortable and relelaxed atmosphere as at this hotel. The staff was extremely service minded with a good private distance. If visiting the island of Cat Ba (which we also can recommend) stay at the Sunrise Resort, it is all your money worth. Everything was just what I expected, and more! The breakfast buffet (and food overall) was amazing. The view is breathtaking. Best vacation spot.The staff also arranged for us to get back to Hanoi (as we did not have a plan when we arrived because we traveled there from Halong Bay). Superb and very helpful staff. Great place and greate view, just best on Cat Ba. - Good beach right in front of the hotel. Location, View, Pool. It is farther from the town than other hotels but wasn't a problem for us. As we did not have dinner at the hotel we cannot say if the restaurant is good, but breakfast was OK (buffet), fairly adapted to western style. To leave .... Little on the expensive side, especially for a college student like me. But honestly, well worth the money. Tour options offered a bit limited Food not as good as expected. Getting to Cat Ba takes a long time despite being only 160km from Hanoi. Difficult to communicate with hotel staff as they hardly spoke english. The diner room. The welcome drinks. Nothing. Some of the beds were hard - perhaps reflecting local tastes but perhaps some comforters would help? Slightly bizarre encounter with who I presume was the owner in the gym who appeared not to want people to use the machines which were new... - Remaining Soviet style approach, although I had just spent >1000 USD on accomodation staff decided to focus their energy on keeping me for 15 minutes at the reception during check out while they were looking for a porcelain plate they claimed was missing from the room. Eventually it was found in the room and I was allowed to leave the hotel. Polluted seawater, very loud and crowded beach, not very motivated staff.
